Abstract: A vehicle control device is mountable on a vehicle. The vehicle control device includes: a processor; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the vehicle control device to perform operations. The operations includes: acquiring detection information obtained by detecting an obstacle around the vehicle; performing collision determination of evaluating a possibility of collision with the obstacle, generating, based on the detection information, information on an approaching object that is an obstacle approaching the vehicle and information on a detection point group that is a set of detection points indicating an obstacle that does not move; and excluding the approaching object from collision determination in a case in which the detection point group has a shielding effect of shielding the vehicle from the approaching object. The shielding effect is evaluated by using a gap threshold that is set based on a vehicle width.

Abstract: A vehicle surroundings monitoring device measures coordinates of an obstacle on a first coordinate system on the basis of a position of the vehicle at a first time point at which a transmission wave is output and a position of the vehicle at a second time point at which a reflected wave of the transmission wave is detected. The monitoring device writes, to a storage device, coordinates of the obstacle on a second coordinate system having a resolution lower than a resolution of the first coordinate system when power turn-off of the vehicle is detected. The monitoring device reads, from the storage device, the coordinates of the obstacle on the second coordinate system when power turn-on of the vehicle is detected. The monitoring device determines whether the vehicle and the obstacle come into contact with each other by using the coordinates of the obstacle read from the storage device.

Abstract: A correction amount setting apparatus sets a correction amount for a sound wave sensor that is mounted on a vehicle and that detects an obstacle by transmitting and receiving a sound wave, the correction amount being a correction amount of a sensitivity to a reflection wave or a threshold for determining whether an obstacle is present. The correction amount setting apparatus includes: a correction amount calculator that acquires temperature information from a temperature sensor that detects an outside air temperature around the vehicle and, based on the temperature information, determines the correction amount; and a correction amount setter that determines and sets the correction amount for the sound wave sensor when the vehicle, from start of traveling, after having been accelerated to a speed higher than a reference speed, is decelerated to the reference speed.
