Abstract: An objective would be to propose a toilet seat apparatus capable of detecting accurately various motions of a human body such as entering and leaving a restroom, sitting on and rising from a toilet seat. A human body detector (5) includes a frequency analyzer (52c), a recognizer (52e), and a database device (52i) storing sample data. The frequency analyzer (52c) converts a sensor signal into a frequency domain signal, and extracts signals of individual filter banks with different frequency bands. The recognizer (52e) has functions of detecting a human body entering a space where at least a toilet bowl (11) is installed and a human body of a person sitting on a toilet seat (12b) based on comparison between the sample data and detection data containing a frequency distribution of signals based on the signals of the individual filter banks (5a).

Abstract: A signal processing device (2) includes an amplifier (3), an A/D converter (4) and a signal processor (5). The amplifier (3) amplifies a sensor signal that is supplied from a radio wave sensor (1) and depends on a motion of an object. The A/D converter (4) converts the sensor signal amplified by the amplifier (3) into a digital sensor signal. The signal processor (5) converts the sensor signal output from the A/D converter (4) into a frequency-domain sensor signal by Discrete Cosine Transform processing, estimates a background signal contained in the frequency-domain sensor signal, based on an error signal obtained from the sensor signal and a reference signal which is white noise, and determines a filter coefficient according to the estimated background signal, thereby operating as an adaptive filter for removing the background signal from the sensor signal in the frequency domain.

Abstract: A sensor has a detector and a processing device. The detector is configured to output a digital value of a beat signal having a frequency difference between radio waves radiated and radio waves received. In the processing device, a frequency analyzer is configured to compute a frequency spectrum of the beat signal. A corrector therein is configured to fill a digital value to the frequency analyzer with zeros whose number corresponds to a difference between the bit-number of the detector on the output side and the bit-number of the frequency analyzer on the input side. A calculator therein is configured to find a peak frequency corresponding to a power peak value from the frequency spectrum computed with the frequency analyzer to convert the peak frequency into the distance to the object.
