    Abstract: Provided is an image-acquisition apparatus including: a scanning portion that scans illumination light emitted from a light source; an optical system that focuses the scanned illumination light on a sample, while collecting signal light beams generated at the individual scanning positions on the sample; a detector that detects the collected signal light beams and that generates detection signals thereof; a signal controller that is configured to generate periodic signals that are repeated at a predetermined period; a light controller that is configured to temporally control a position or an intensity of the illumination light in accordance with the generated periodic signals; and a computer that is configured to process, in accordance with the generated periodic signals, the detection signals generated, wherein the computer is provided with a frequency shifter for shifting frequencies of the detection signals, and an integrator that integrates the shifted detection signals at an integration time.

    Abstract: An ultrasound imaging device includes: a first transmitter configured to transmit a transmission signal to at least one piezoelectric element; a receiver configured to receive a reception signal from the at least one piezoelectric element; a second transmitter configured to transmit a given signal to the at least one piezoelectric element; a timing controller configured to control a transmitting timing at which the first transmitter transmits the transmission signal and a receiving timing at which the receiver receives the reception signal; and a signal controller configured to cause the second transmitter to transmit the given signal to a first area to which the first transmitter does not transmit the transmission signal at the transmitting timing or cause the second transmitter to transmit the given signal to a second area from which the receiver does not receive the reception signal at the receiving timing.

    Abstract: An endoscope system includes: an ultrasound transducer configured to output an electrical signal by receiving an ultrasound wave; an ultrasound observation apparatus configured to generate an ultrasound image based on a signal in a specific frequency band included in the electrical signal; a light source configured to supply illumination light to irradiate an inside of a subject; a light guide configured to guide the illumination light into the subject and scan an irradiation position of the illumination light into the subject along a specific trajectory according to an input drive signal; a driver configured to output the drive signal to the light guide; and a processor configured to control an operation of the driver to output the drive signal having a drive center frequency outside the specific frequency band to the light guide.

    Abstract: Provided is a scanning microscope including a pinhole array disk having a plurality of pinholes restricting a light flux of illumination light for irradiating a sample, the plurality of pinholes being disposed so as to form an array about a center axis; a rotational driving unit rotating the pinhole array disk about the center axis; an objective lens irradiating the sample with the illumination light that has passed through the pinholes and collecting fluorescence from the sample to cause the fluorescence to enter the pinholes; a camera acquiring an image of the sample by repeatedly capturing the fluorescence that has passed through the pinholes; and a stimulation optical system irradiating the sample with stimulation light, wherein the system includes a stimulation-timing generating unit decreasing the intensity of the stimulation light during exposure periods of the camera and increasing the intensity of the stimulation light during periods between exposure periods.
