    摘要: A wireless-IC-device main component is disposed on a surface opposite to a surface for receiving signals from a reader/writer. The wireless-IC-device main component includes an insulating substrate, which is provided with a loop electrode and an electromagnetically coupled module coupled to the loop electrode. A signal from the reader/writer causes an eddy current to flow across a conductor principal plane of a metal article. The eddy current causes a magnetic field to be generated in a direction perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the conductor principal plane of the metal article. Then, the loop electrode is coupled to the magnetic field. Thus, the wireless-IC-device main component functions as an RFID tag even for signals from the principal plane opposite to the wireless-IC-device main component. Thus, it is possible to reduce the cost of manufacturing a metal article, and to provide a wireless IC device using the metal article as a radiator.

The connecting portion electrically connects the outer end of the line electrode portion and an end of the cross line electrode. A wireless IC is mounted such that terminal electrodes thereof are connected to the connecting portion and an end of a radiating electrode. A radiating/resonating electrode including the line electrode portion, the capacitance electrodes, and the cross line electrode can act both as a resonant circuit for a resonant tag and as a radiating electrode serving as an RFID tag.

    摘要: An antenna device includes a base including a planar conductor disposed thereon, and a coil antenna. The coil antenna includes a coil conductor wound around a magnetic core. The coil antenna is arranged such that a coil opening of the coil conductor is closed to an edge of the planar conductor. A current passing through the coil conductor induces a current in the planar conductor. Thus, a first magnetic flux occurs in the coil antenna, and a second magnetic flux occurs in the planar conductor. Therefore, a third magnetic flux occurs in an area of the planar conductor. Accordingly, the antenna device achieves a small footprint, a small-sized communication terminal apparatus and a desired communication distance.

    摘要: A radio frequency IC device achieves impedance matching between a radio IC chip and a radiation plate in a wide frequency band, and achieves desired radiation characteristics over a wide range of frequencies. A radio frequency IC device and a radio communication system allow both long-distance and short-distance communication and, in particular, allow short-distance communication using a small amount of energy. The radio frequency IC device includes an electromagnetic coupling module including a radio IC chip and a feed circuit board, and a radiation plate. An annular electrode is arranged to be coupled to both a feed circuit of the electromagnetic coupling module and the radiation plate. The radiation plate defines an electric-field radiation plate for long-distance communication, while the annular electrode defines a magnetic-field radiation plate for short-distance communication. The feed circuit board may be removed, so that the radio IC chip is coupled to the annular electrode directly or with an interposer disposed therebetween.
