    Abstract: There is inter alia disclosed an apparatus for spatial audio encoding which can receive or determine for one or more audio signals, spatial audio parameters on a sub band basis for providing spatial audio reproduction, the spatial audio parameters can comprise a coherence value for each sub band of a plurality of sub-bands of a frame. The apparatus then determines a significance measure for the coherence values of the plurality of sub bands of the frame and uses the significance measure to determine whether to encode the coherence values of the plurality of sub bands of the frame.

    Abstract: Examples of the disclosure relate to apparatus, methods and computer programs for spatial processing audio scenes with improved intelligibility for speech or other key sounds. In examples of the disclosure at least one audio signal including two or more channels is obtained. The audio signal is processed with program code to identify at least a first portion of the audio signal wherein the first portion predominantly includes audio of interest. The first portion is processed using a first process. The second portion is processed using a second process including spatial audio processing. The first process includes no spatial audio processing or a low level of spatial audio processing compared to the second process and the second portion predominantly includes a remainder. The processed first portion and second portion can be played back using two or more loudspeakers.

    Abstract: An apparatus including circuitry configured to: obtain at least two microphone audio signals; determine audio data including different directivity configurations that are able to capture sound from substantially a same or similar direction; determine at least one value related to the sound arriving from at least the same or similar direction based on the audio data; determine further audio data including at least one configuration which provides a more omnidirectional directivity configuration than the audio data; determine at least one value related to the sound based on the further audio data; and determine a noise suppression parameter based on the at least one value related to the arriving sound and the value related to the sound. The spatial noise suppression parameter is configured to be applied to the microphone audio signals in the generation of a playback audio signal.

    Abstract: According to an example embodiment, a method for processing a multi-channel input audio signal representing a sound field into a multi-channel output audio signal representing said sound field in accordance with a predefined loudspeaker layout is provided, the method comprising the following for at least one frequency band: obtaining spatial audio parameters that are descriptive of spatial characteristics of said sound field; estimating a signal energy of the sound field represented by the multi-channel input audio signal; estimating, based on said signal energy and the obtained spatial audio parameters, respective output signal energies for channels of the multi-channel output audio signal according to said predefined loudspeaker layout; determining a maximum output energy as the largest of the output signal energies across channels of said multi-channel output audio signal; and deriving, on basis of said maximum output energy, a gain value for adjusting sound reproduction gain in at least one of said channels of the multi-channel output audio signal.
