    Abstract: Examples of the disclosure relate to apparatus, methods and computer programs for spatial processing audio scenes with improved intelligibility for speech or other key sounds. In examples of the disclosure at least one audio signal including two or more channels is obtained. The audio signal is processed with program code to identify at least a first portion of the audio signal wherein the first portion predominantly includes audio of interest. The first portion is processed using a first process. The second portion is processed using a second process including spatial audio processing. The first process includes no spatial audio processing or a low level of spatial audio processing compared to the second process and the second portion predominantly includes a remainder. The processed first portion and second portion can be played back using two or more loudspeakers.

    Abstract: According to an example embodiment, a method for processing an input audio signal (101) in accordance with spatial metadata (103) so as to play back a spatial audio signal in a device (50) in dependence of at least one sound reproduction characteristic (105) of the device is provided, the method comprising obtaining said input audio signal (101) and said spatial metadata (103); obtaining said at least one sound reproduction characteristic (105) of the device; rendering a first portion of the spatial audio signal using a first type playback procedure applied on the input audio signal in dependence of the spatial metadata (103), wherein the first portion comprises sound directions within a front region of the spatial audio signal; and rendering a second portion of the spatial audio signal using a second type playback procedure applied on the input audio signal in dependence of the spatial metadata (103) and in dependence of said at least one sound reproduction characteristic (105), wherein the second portion comprises sound directions that are not included in the first portion and where the second type playback procedure is different from the first playback procedure and involves cross-talk cancellation processing.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product provide an improved filter calibration procedure to reliably equalize the long term spectrum of the audio signals captured by first and second microphones that are at different locations relative to a sound source and/or are of different types. In the context of a method, the signals captured by the first and second microphones are analyzed. The method also determines one or more quality measures based on the analysis. In an instance in which one or more quality measure satisfy a predefined condition, the method determines a frequency response of the signals captured by the first and second microphones. The method also determines a difference between the frequency response of the signals captured by the first and second microphones and processes the signals captured by the first microphone for filtering relative to the signals captured by the second microphone based upon the difference.
