    Abstract: The present invention provides a photothermographic material having, on one side of a support, an image forming layer including at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for the organic silver salt, and a binder, and at least one non-photosensitive layer and, on the other side of the support, a non-photosensitive back layer, wherein a total amount of ammonia contained in the two sides is from 5×10−4 mol/m2 to 2×10−2 mol/m2, and a molar ratio (A2/A1) of an ammonia content of the non-photosensitive back layer (A2) to an ammonia content of the layer on the image forming layer side (A1) is from 0.3 to 5.0; or a photothermographic material according to the above, wherein the non-photosensitive back layer includes an ammonium salt, and an ammonia content of the non-photosensitive back layer is from 2 mg/m2 to 100 mg/m2.

    Abstract: A producing method of a fatty acid silver salt is described, which comprises adding (1) a solution of silver ions comprising water or a mixed solution of an organic solvent and water containing therein silver ions, and (2) a solution of a fatty acid alkali metal salt which is a solution or a suspension comprising water, an organic solvent, or a mixed solution of water and an organic solvent, containing therein an alkali metal salt of a fatty acid to a closed mixing means to react the solution (1) and the solution (2), wherein from 50 to 99.5 mol % of the entire fatty acid alkali metal salt solution is added to the closed mixing means under such a condition that the concentration of the fatty acid alkali metal salt is higher than the silver ion concentration, and from 0.5 to 30 mol % of the entire fatty acid alkali metal salt solution is added to the closed mixing means or to the downstream of the closed mixing means after the silver ion solution has been added to the closed mixing means. A photothermographic image-recording material comprising the fatty acid silver salt produced by the above-mentioned method is also described.

    Abstract: A method for producing grains of aliphatic acid silver salt by mixing a solution containing silver ions and a solution of aliphatic acid alkali metal salt to attain reaction of them, wherein (1) 95-100% of the total molar number to be added of the aliphatic acid alkali metal salt is added under a condition that dilution factor of the solution of aliphatic acid alkali metal salt becomes 10-fold or higher at 1 second after the addition, (2) 95-100% of the total amount to be added of silver in the solution containing silver ions is added under a condition that dilution factor of the solution containing silver ions becomes 20-fold or higher at 1 second after the addition, and (3) 50-100% of the total amount to be added of the solution of aliphatic acid alkali metal salt is added simultaneously with the solution containing silver ions. According to the present invention, there is provided a method for producing grains of aliphatic acid silver salt, which show excellent fog prevention ability, in addition, excellent fog prevention ability even after time lapse, when used in a thermally processed image recording material.
