Abstract:
An apparatus for winding a fiber strand onto a former, wherein there is provided a separating means for fixing and separating the fiber strand at the end of an operation of winding on a finish-wound first former and for bringing the fixed fiber-strand end to a second former to be wound in order to begin a new winding operation. At least one thread buffer for temporary storage of a fiber-strand portion between the end of one winding operation and the beginning of a new winding operation is disposed upstream from the separating means in the feed direction.

Abstract:
An apparatus for separating from a mandrel a shell snugly surrounding the mandrel has a base, a frame fixed on the base, and a holder on the base forward of the frame and adapted to support the shell surrounding the mandrel with an end of the mandrel juxtaposed with the frame. At least two stripper jaws on the frame can move radially of the mandrel of the shell on the frame between outer positions spaced radially outward from the shell and inner positions engageable with the shell. An extractor slide can shift longitudinally on the base rearward of the frame and carries a gripper extendable through the frame to grasp the end of the mandrel. The slide can shift the gripper axially away from the frame to brace the shell axially through the jaws against the frame and pull the mandrel out of the shell.
Abstract:
An apparatus for winding a fiber strand onto a bobbin having a longitudinal axis has a support holding the bobbin for rotation about the axis, a supply for feeding the fiber strand in a travel direction generally radially or tangentially to the bobbin, and a drive for rotating the bobbin about the longitudinal axis and for, when a fiber strand is engaged with the bobbin, winding the fiber strand onto the bobbin. A handling device is rotatable about the axis adjacent the bobbin and carries a strand layer for at a start of a winding operation moving into a predetermined angular position and pressing a leading end of the fiber strand against the bobbin. The handler also carries a cutter on the handling device for at an end of a winding operation cutting the fiber strand and thereby forming a trailing end attached to the bobbin and a new leading end.
Abstract:
An apparatus for treating molded objects all having a predetermined object length in a treatment station has first and second transversely spaced conveyor strands extending longitudinally in a travel direction into the treatment station for displacing the object in the travel direction into the treatment station. Respective first and second holding bolts are supported by the respective strands and secured in respective ends of the objects with the objects extending transversely between the strands. A plurality of longitudinally spaced and transversely extending support elements are fixed to and longitudinally displaceable with the first strand. The first bolts are supported on the elements that each have a transverse length equal to at least 30% of the length of the first holding bolt between the respective end of the respective molded object and the first conveyor strand, or 10% of the length of the molded objects, or 30 mm.
