Abstract:
A chaotic communication system employs transmitting and receiving chaotic oscillating circuits. One improvement to first-generation systems is the ability to modulate a nonreactive element in the transmitting circuit, thus increasing modulation bandwidth. Other features include insertion of a gain control amplifier in a chaotic receiver; signal filtering in chaotic transmitters and receivers; use of chaotic modulation techniques for cellular telephony applications; dual-transmitter and receiver systems; a dual receiver synchronization detector; interfaces to communication systems; analog chaotic signal modulation; use of multiple chaotic transmitters and receivers; digital algorithm improvement using a cube-law nonlinear component; a Gb-only receiver; a Gb-only transmitter; and positive slope transmitter and receiver systems.

Each of the plurality of generator components have a signal generator, a CPU to promote test signal generation by the signal generator, and an amplifier to amplify signals generated by the signal generator. The test device also includes a controller coupled to communicate with the plurality of generator components.
Abstract:
A tubular member 12 having an internal and/or external metal thread 18, 20 at one end thereof, at least part of the thread 18, 20 being coated with an alloy of copper and tin, said alloy containing 5 wt % to 95 wt % copper. The tubular member 10 can be combined with another tubular member 14, 16 to provide a threaded connection 10 having improved galling resistance.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for disseminating weather products, based on raw weather data provided by various weather condition sensors, to a mobile vehicle. The weather products are formed as web pages and transmitted to the mobile vehicle during the vertical blanking interval of a broadcast television signal. The weather products are received and displayed within the vehicle under control of a web browser.
Abstract:
A data processing apparatus includes a graphics display device for displaying a display frame comprising a plurality of display frame pixels. A sprite management system composes the display frame from a plurality of graphic sprites. Each graphic sprite comprises a plurality of sprite pixels and corresponding sprite pixel values. Each sprite has a specified depth relative to the other sprites. One of the sprites is designated to be a video sprite. This sprite is loaded with a chroma-key value. The sprite management system includes a data processing device connected to access a display frame composition buffer. The data processing device is programmed to write pixel values of individual sprites to the display frame composition buffer. This writing begins with the pixel values of the sprite having the greatest depth and proceeds with the pixel values of the remaining sprites in order of decreasing sprite depth. The display frame data is then passed to a video overlay board which overlays a video image over those pixels containing the chroma-key value. The result is a display frame in which the plurality of graphic sprites, including the video sprite, appear layered with respect to each other in accordance with their respectively specified depths.
Abstract:
A novel horse hoof boot is provided with a method of forming the same. The boot includes two separate elements, the first configured in part to support the horse's hoof inside the boundary of the hoof wall and the second wrapping around the outside of the hoof to provide stability. The method enables custom forming of a boot to a particular horse's hoof by forming a three-dimensional rigid hoof model which guides formation of the boot components.
Abstract:
The present invention provides improved latching assemblies for use in animal stanchions that are easy to remove and replace, that are better able to withstand pressures exerted by animals in the stanchions, and methods of removal and replacement that do not require removal of the support pipe nor removal of any other stanchion latches along the support pipe between the removed latch and the end of the pipe. Embodiments of the improved latching assemblies of the present invention include one or both of the features of (a) a removable lower portion, and (b) a reinforced pivotal section.
Abstract:
A fistulary catheter for creating a sutureless mucosa-to-mucosa anastomosis. The catheter includes a rigid guide portion having a penetrating point and a fenestrated portion which has at least one fenestration communicating with a hollow interior and terminating in an opening which has an everted rim. The everted rim is desirably provided with a corrugated margin to grip the mucosa without compromising the blood supply. The guide portion may be hook shaped to guide the direction of the catheter or a metal probe may be used to guide a straight catheter. The guide portion may be flattened to minimize leakage around the guide portion. The fenestrated portion of the catheter may be straight or may be provided with varying degrees of tapering. The taper acts to hold the mucosa in place during the formation of the anastomosis. In an alternative embodiment, the fenestrated portion is straight without any taper and is used with spacers with differing diameters. The spacers are placed over the catheter so as to fit against the everted rim. Rather than employing the taper to hold the enteric mucosa in place, the thickness of the wall of the spacer defines a “lip” at its upper end to grip the mucosa.
Abstract:
A system for generating a signal for testing a relay is provided. The system includes a plurality of argument vector arrays, each defines a digital signal for testing the relay. Each of the argument vector arrays includes a plurality of argument vectors and each argument vector includes a plurality of arguments. The system includes a plurality of waveform generators to generate a plurality of signal components. Each waveform generator generates the signal component based on the argument vectors contained by a selected one of the plurality of argument vector arrays. The system also includes a merge component to combine the signal components to produce the digital signal for testing the relay.
