Abstract: A cylindrical lithium primary battery includes an electrode body that is configured such that a positive electrode and a negative electrode are spirally wound with a separator interposed therebetween. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode current collector and positive electrode mixture layers that are disposed on both surfaces of the positive electrode current collector and contain manganese dioxide as a positive electrode active material. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode current collector and two lithium layers that are disposed on one surface of the negative electrode current collector and spaced 6 to 12 mm apart in the longitudinal direction. The negative electrode is wound in such a manner that the negative electrode is folded back so that the folded negative electrode current collector overlaps itself, and the inner peripheral ends of the two lithium layers are respectively located outside the winding center.
