Abstract:
A method to operate a controller for exchanging information corresponding to a public safety incident is provided. In operation, the controller transmits a request to communication networks to send location information for portable communication devices operating in a region of interest. The controller, based on the location information received from the communication networks for the portable communication devices, selects a subset of portable communication devices. The controller assigns each device in the subset to a trusted group of devices or a non-trusted group of devices based on the respective subscriber profile and operating characteristics of the portable communication devices. The controller then establishes a connection with high priority portable communication devices in the trusted group via a public safety communication network to exchange information corresponding to the incident.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for presenting prioritized incident content. One embodiment takes the form of a method that includes receiving one or more status alerts from one or more public-safety devices associated with one or more public-safety responders. The method also includes correlating one or more of the received status alerts with one or more media sessions involving one or more of the public-safety responders. The method also includes prioritizing one or more of the media sessions based on prioritization criteria that includes the one or more status alerts correlated with those media sessions. The method also includes presenting one or more of the prioritized media sessions in a chronological view on respective user interfaces of one or more public-safety communication devices.
Abstract:
A process for identifying a person, object, or entity (POE) of interest outside of a moving vehicle includes first receiving, from a camera coupled to the vehicle, a video stream having a field-of-view (FOV) of an area surrounding the vehicle. A first trigger is detected associated with a vehicle occupant's indicated desire to capture a portion of the video stream. A selected FOV sub-portion of the video stream less than then an entire captured FOV of the video stream is identified as a function of the trigger or a separate electronic sensor input. A second trigger is detected indicative of the vehicle occupant's indicated desire to stop capturing the portion of the video stream. The video stream is then sub-selected in time and FOV as a function of the foregoing to create a second modified video stream and provided to a target device for display.
