    Abstract: The invention relates to a process to modify polymers on-site the main process site. The process comprises on-site the main process site a receiving section (11) configured to receive an adduct solution as an interim polymer product for a process polymer of the main process site in solids contents of 15-60 wt-%, preferably 20-60 wt-%, more preferably 30-60 wt-%, a crosslinking section (13) configured to crosslink polymers of the adduct solution and a final section (14) configured to provide a ready-to-use solution with the crosslinked polymers to the main process as the process polymer on-site the main process site. The invention also relates to a method configured to modify polymers on-site at a main process site.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a multi-layered fibrous web is disclosed, which includes at least two fibrous layers, where each layer is formed from one or more fibre stocks. The fibrous layers are combined prior to subjecting the multilayered fibrous web to wet-pressing and drying. At least one layer of the multi-layered fibrous web is formed from a fibre stock including at least 50 weight-% of a chemi-thermomechanical pulp (CTMP), a hardwood kraft pulp and/or a recycled fibre material calculated from a thick stock applied to a particular layer approach system. A first strength component and a second strength component are added to the fibre stock. The first strength component includes a cationic strength agent and the second strength component includes a synthetic amphoteric polymer composition having a net charge from −3 to +1 meq/g (dry), at a pH of 7.

    Abstract: Method for on-site glyoxylation of polyacrylamide in paper mill, board mill or the like is disclosed. Discontinuous batch glyoxylation reaction of aqueous reaction mixture is performed. The method comprises forming or obtaining the aqueous reaction mixture having a start viscosity and comprising polyacrylamide base polymer having weight average molecular weight of 30 000-300 000 g/mol and glyoxal. Concentration of the polyacrylamide base polymer in the reaction mixture is 1.5-8% above a Critical Concentration of the polyacrylamide base polymer. A feed of an alkali is added to the reaction mixture while measuring viscosity of the reaction mixture and/or a process variable related to the viscosity of the reaction mixture and the on-site glyoxylation reaction of polyacrylamide base polymer in the reaction mixture is allowed to proceed. When a predetermined end viscosity value is attained the feed of alkali is ended and acid is added to the reaction mixture.
