Abstract:
According to embodiments of the invention, data not ordinarily sent through a transaction network can be transmitted to a resource provider (e.g., a merchant) in an authorization response message. For example, a location of an authorized user of a credential can be transmitted to a merchant to be compared to the merchant's location. This allows the merchant to determine whether to deliver goods or services to a consumer presenting the credential. In an additional or alternative example, transaction statistics can be transmitted to a merchant to allow the merchant to perform analytics. In both cases, the authorization response message serves the function of not only providing authorization services, but also authentication services (via user location) and/or data services (via statistics).
Abstract:
A prepaid card processing system is operable for processing customized expiration dates of prepaid cards. The prepaid card processing system includes a database for storing program expiration parameters associated with an issuer prepaid card program; a set of card accounts created under the issuer prepaid card program, wherein each card account has an expiration date for a prepaid card associated with the card account; and one or more customized expiration parameters for the set of card accounts. The prepaid card processing system is operable to determine the expiration date for the prepaid card associated with the card account based on the program expiration parameters and the customized expiration parameters for the set of card accounts.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the invention is directed to a method comprising receiving, at a mobile payment system, transaction information from a mobile device operated by an originating user. The method further comprises generating, by the mobile payment system, a transaction request message using the transaction information from the mobile device operated by the originating user and analyzing, by the mobile payment system, the transaction request message to determine a type of the transaction. The method further comprises processing, by the mobile payment system, the transaction based on the type of the transaction, wherein the mobile payment system is configured to integrate at least two of an issuer, acquirer, and payment processing network functional modules.
Abstract:
A method and system for handling returned account statements in a payment card system. In one embodiment, upon receipt of a returned account statement corresponding to a consumer's account, an indication is made in the consumer's account that an address of the consumer is invalid; and future mailing of account statements to the address are suppressed. Electronic delivery of the account statement may be activated to an email address of the consumer. In this way, no further account statements are mailed to the invalid address. A customer service representative may be alerted that the address of the consumer is invalid, and upon receiving an updated address from the consumer, and indication can be made in the consumer's account that an address of the consumer is valid, whereupon mailing of future account statements to the updated address can be activated and if desired electronic delivery of the account statement to the email address of the consumer can be terminated.
Abstract:
An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus is for comparing a set of production fraud parameters with one or more sets of test or proposed fraud parameters run against prepaid card production data in a prepaid card analysis. The apparatus may include a system for uploading a set of production fraud parameters and one or more sets of test fraud parameters, a processing engine for receiving the uploaded parameters for running production data against the set of production fraud parameters in tandem with the one or more sets of test fraud parameters to produce a set of suspected fraud cases triggered by each set of fraud parameters, and one or more databases integrated with or in communications with the processing engine for card validation.
Abstract:
A method and system for handling returned prepaid device in a payment system. In one embodiment, upon receipt of a returned prepaid device corresponding to a consumer's account, a method indicates in the consumer's account that an address of the consumer is invalid; and determines whether the device should be stored in order to possibly re-send the device to the consumer if a new valid consumer address is received, or to destroy the device and refund the purchaser.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for a prepaid credit card processing system wherein components or entities such as the acquirer, issuer, or prepaid card processing network can dynamically determine, at the time of the transaction, whether a credit card transaction will be allowed—even where the fee associated with the transaction would cause the balance to fall below zero.

Abstract:
A method determines that a first relationship between a holder of a portable consumer device and a first employer is terminated. In response to determining that the first relationship is terminated, the method also disassociates account information of the portable consumer device from the first employer while retaining an association between the portable consumer device and an issuer of the portable consumer device. In addition, the method establishes a second relationship between the employee and a second employer and links the account information of the portable consumer device with the second employer.
Abstract:
A processing system is operable for issuance and processing of cards with fee options applicable to a group of fee types. In one embodiment, the processing system includes a processing module, a secure card network, an issuer fee database and card account database. The card issuance database is operable to store a fee record associated with a card, wherein the fee record includes the fee options configured to apply to the group of fee types. The card account database is operable to store a card account record for the card, wherein the card account record includes a universal fee access counter for tracking parameters associated with the fee options configured to apply to the group of fee types.
