    Abstract: An indication that a user wishes to conduct a bank transaction is received. An authentication path to be presented to the individual is pseudo-randomly determined. The authentication path comprises a combination of authentication challenges to be presented to the individual. A determination is made whether the user presented valid responses to the authentication challenges. The user is authenticated to conduct the bank transaction based on whether the user is determined to have presented valid responses to the authentication challenges.

    Abstract: The invention provides systems and methods for risk assessment using a variable risk engine. A method for risk assessment may comprise setting an amount of real-time risk analysis for an online transaction, performing the amount of real-time risk analysis based on the set amount, and performing an amount of time-delayed risk analysis. In some embodiments, the amount of real-time risk analysis may depend on a predetermined period of time for completion of the real-time risk analysis. In other embodiments, the amount of real-time risk analysis may depend on selected tests to be completed during the real-time risk analysis.

    Abstract: A method for fraud modeling based on shared computing device usage includes: storing transaction data entries, each including a transaction date and/or time, account identifier, and device identifier associated with a computing device; receiving a transaction message for a payment transaction, the transaction message including a specific device identifier, primary account number, and additional transaction data; identifying transaction data entries where the included device identifier corresponds to the specific device identifier; determining a fraud risk rating based on a number of unique account identifiers included in the identified transaction data entries over a predetermined period of time; and transmitting the transaction message and the determined fraud risk rating to a financial institution associated with the primary account number.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides various embodiments of systems and methods for secure communications. In one aspect, the system includes a secure payment module (SPM) in a fuel dispenser and a point-of-state (POS) system. The POS system stores a public key certificate uniquely identifying the SPM and is configured to dynamically generate a first session key. The POS system encrypts the first session key with a public key associated with the public key certificate, and transmits the encrypted first session key to the SPM. The SPM, which stores a private key associated with the public key certificate, is configured to receive and decrypt the first session key. The SPM is further configured to receive a set of magnetic card data from a card reader, encrypt the set of magnetic card data with the first session key, and transmit the encrypted set of magnetic card data to the POS system.
