    摘要: A chronographic electronic timepiece adapted to display elapsed time wherein the time displayed is rounded off to the nearest half period is provided. Chronographic divider stages adapted to apply signals representative of elapsed time to associated display elements include a binary divider stage adapted to produce elapsed time signal having a period which is the longest time period not displayed by said display elements. A rounding off circuit is provided for advancing the period counted by the binary divider stage in order to advance the count thereof by half a period to effect a rounding off of the time displayed by the display elements.

    摘要: An electronic timepiece including a phase circuit for advancing and/or delaying the phase of the frequency signals to thereby regulate the frequency thereof is provided. The electronic timepiece includes an oscillator for producing a high frequency time standard signal and a divider circuit having a series-connected chain of frequency divider stages, at least one of the divider stages in response to the application of the high frequency time standard signal to the divider circuit producing a timekeeping signal. A display is adapted to display time in response to said timekeeping signal applied thereto. The phase changing circuit is series-connected in the series-connected divider chain to thereby apply an intermediate frequency signal from the divider stage just prior thereto to the next divider stage. Additionally, the phase changing circuit is adapted to selectively change the phase of the intermediate frequency signal applied to the next divider stage to effect an adjustment of the frequency of the timekeeping signal produced by the divider circuit.

    摘要: An electronic timepiece having a main oscillator circuit including a first quartz crystal vibrator as a time standard and also having a secondary oscillator circuit including a further quartz crystal vibrator as a time standard for reducing the affect of temperature on the accuracy of the timepiece by utilizing the different temperature characteristics of the respective time standards is provided. The main oscillator circuit produces a high frequency time standard signal having a first frequency rate that is determined, at least in part, by the temperature characteristic of the first time standard, which characteristic includes an inflection peak at a specific temperature. The second oscillator circuit produces a second high frequency time standard signal having a second predetermined frequency, determined, at least in part, by the temperature characteristic of the second time standard being distinct from that of the first time standard. Phase detection circuitry is provided for producing a phase detection signal in response to detecting a predetermined frequency difference in phase between the first and second high frequency time standard signals when the temperature is 10.degree. higher or lower than the specific temperature at which the first time standard has its inflection peak. A display is provided for displaying actual time in response to receiving a low frequency time signal produced by divider circuitry. A frequency adjustment circuit is coupled intermediate the phase detection circuitry and the divider circuitry for adjusting the frequency of the low frequency time signal produced by the divider circuitry when a phase detection signal is applied thereto.

The temperature compensation circuit is characterized by a temperature detection circuit comprised of MOS transistors, at least two of which have distinct conductive coefficients for producing signals representative of variations in ambient temperature and a temperature signal converting means including MOS transistors for converting the temperature dependent signal into a temperature compensation value for effecting timing rate adjustment in an electronic timepiece. The temperature detection circuit and the temperature signal converter circuit are both formed of elements that can be monolithically integrated into the same substrate.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display driving circuit arrangement that is formed entirely of elements that can be monolithically integrated in a circuit chip and that adjusts the effective voltage of the drive signals applied to the liquid crystal display cells in response to variations in external conditions is provided. A sensing circuit is adapted to produce a signal representative of a change in an external condition and in response thereto produce a sensing signal representative thereof. A pulse control circuit is adapted to detect the condition signal and in response thereto produce a control signal representative of a variation in effective voltage to be applied to the display cells. A driving circuit is coupled to a liquid crystal display for applying drive signals produced by display control circuit having a variable effective voltage. The driving circuit is adapted to vary the effective voltage of the drive signals applied to the liquid crystal digital display cells by an amount determined by the control signal applied thereto.
