Abstract: Beam measurement reporting circuitry is provided for a user equipment (UE) of a wireless telecommunications network. The beam measurement reporting circuitry receives from the network, beam measurement configuration data and measures signal qualities for a plurality of received beams originating from a beam source of the network (serving and neighbouring cells). Beam measurements are performed by the UE to facilitate identification of a non-zero integer, N, beams depending upon the signal quality measurements. The identified beams can be candidate beams for a handover. Circuitry for a NodeB is also provided. A UE, a NodeB and corresponding methods incorporating the beam measurement reporting circuitry and beam measurement configuration circuitry are also provided.

Abstract: An apparatus of a user equipment (UE) may include a memory and one or more processors operatively coupled to the memory. The processors may process a scheduling trigger to provide channel state information (CSI) and beam information using extra-large physical uplink shared channel (xPUSCH). The processing device may also generate a reporting message comprising CSI and beam information. The processing device may then encode xPUSCH data to include the reporting message.

One example apparatus employable at a base station comprises a processor configured to schedule a fifth generation Physical Downlink Shared Channel (xPDSCH) during one or more xPDSCH symbols of a subframe n; schedule a final M symbols of the one or more xPDSCH symbols for fifth generation Channel State Information Reference Signals (xCSI-RS); and output one or more control messages to transmitter circuitry for transmission to one or more User Equipments (UEs), wherein the one or more control messages comprise a xCSI-RS configuration for the one or more UEs, wherein the xCSI-RS configuration indicates the value of M and the final M symbols scheduled for xCSI-RS.

Abstract: Techniques for xPDCCH (5G (Fifth Generation) Physical Downlink Control Channel) design are discussed. In various aspects, xPDCCH can be transmitted via one or more OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) symbols, with each OFDM symbol comprising a xPDCCH search space. Each xPDCCH search space can have one or two distinct xPDCCH sets, with each xPDCCH set having a xCCE (5G Control Channel Element) starting position that can be based on one of several predetermined rules, and can depend on one or more factors.
