    摘要: Provided are novel 4- and 5-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles, and regioisomer mixtures thereof, modified polymers, wherein the substituted 1,2,3-triazoles are modified by reaction with a modifying polymer (maleic anhydride based polymer). Depending upon the ratio of the substituted 1,2,3-triazole to the maleic anhydride based polymer employed, the resulting modified polymers can provide maleic anhydride based polymers that are partially or fully reacted with the substituted 1,2,3-triazoles. The resulting modified polymers may be partially or fully opened to provide amic acids, carboxylic acids, carboxylic acidic salts, imides, or esters. The novel 4- or 5-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles, and regioisomer mixtures thereof, modified polymers can be converted to a wide variety of useful polymers and may be employed in a wide variety of compositions. An example of a modified polymer may be represented by the structure: formula: (1) wherein m, n, and q are defined herein.

    摘要: Described herein are hemi-aminal ethers and thioethers of N-alkenyl cyclic compounds that may be produced through a reaction comprising: (A) at least one first reactant represented by a structure (I), wherein X is a functionalized or unfunctionalized C1-C5 alkylene group optionally having one or more heteroatoms, and each R1, R2, and R3 is independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and functionalized and unfunctionalized alkyl groups optionally having one or more heteroatoms, and (B) at least one second reactant having at least one hydroxyl moiety or thiol moiety. The hemi-aminal ethers and thioethers of N-alkenyl cyclic compounds may comprise a polymerizable moiety, in which case they may be left as-is or used to create homopolymers or non-homopolymers, or they may not comprise a polymerizable moiety. A wide variety of formulations may be created using the hemi-aminal ethers and thioethers of N-alkenyl cyclic compounds, including personal care, oilfield, and construction formulations.

    摘要: Described herein is a class of non-homopolymers polymerized from at least: (A) 10-22 mole percent of at least one N-vinyl lactam, (B) 30-35 mole percent of at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, and combinations thereof, (C) 40-52 mole percent of at least one (meth)acrylate of a straight- or branched-chain alkyl alcohol, and (D) 5-20 mole percent of at least one (meth)acrylate of a saturated or unsaturated cyclic alcohol having 6 to 20 carbon atoms. In one embodiment, the non-homopolymers exhibit solubility in the lower molecular weight alcohols. The non-homopolymers may be used in personal care or performance chemicals compositions. In one embodiment, the polymers are used in various personal care formulations, such as used for skin, sun, hair, and preservatives.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a water based High-Temperature High-Pressure (HTHP) fluid composition having a density of about 8.3 to about 21.0 ppg, comprising: (i) a brine based fluid; (ii) about 0.5 ppb to about 20 ppb of crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP); (iii) about 5 ppb to about 100 ppb of bridging agents selected from the group consisting of CaCO3 and sized salts; and (iv) optionally about 0 ppb to about 25 ppb of Fluids Loss Additives (FLA), wherein the crosslinked PVP is prepared by precipitation polymerization of vinylpyrrolidone (VP) in an organic solvent in the presence of a crosslinking agent and a free radical polymerization initiator, wherein the crosslinking agent is present in an amount of from about 0.1 wt. % to about 5.0 wt. % based on the weight of the vinylpyrrolidone. Also discloses a method of drilling and completing operations in a subterranean formation.
