    Abstract: Apparatuses of wireless communication devices are disclosed. An apparatus of a user equipment includes one or more processors configured to start a first timer responsive to detection of a Radio Link (RL) failure, start a second timer and trigger a beam recovery procedure one or more times responsive to expiry of the first timer if RL recovery is not detected, and start a third timer and attempt to find a suitable cell for Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reestablishment responsive to one or more expiries of the second timer if RL recovery fails. The one or more processors are also configured to go to an RRC idle or inactive state responsive to expiry of the third timer if a suitable cell for RRC connection reestablishment is not found.

    Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate configuration and/or multi-beam operation of a NR (New Radio) PRACH (Physical Random Access Channel). One example embodiment employable at a UE (User Equipment) comprises processing circuitry configured to process higher layer signaling indicating a NR (New Radio) random access configuration; generate a random access preamble sequence based at least in part on the random access configuration; map the random access preamble sequence to a set of resources for each of a plurality of sets of beamforming weights; process N RARs (Random Access Responses) associated with the random access preamble sequence, wherein N is an integer greater than one; generate a random access Msg3 (message 3); and map N copies of the random access Msg3 to a PUSCH (Physical Uplink Shared Channel).

    Abstract: Technology for a Next Generation NodeB (gNB) operable to encode a primary synchronization signal for transmission to a user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The gNB can identify a sequence d(n) for a primary synchronization signal. The sequence d(n) can be defined by: d(5 n)=1.2s(n), where s(n) is a maximum run length sequence (msequence) and s(n) is provided as s(n+7)=(s(n +4)+s(n)) mod 2, where 0.n.127. The gNB can generate the primary synchronization signal based on the sequence d(n). The gNB can encode the primary synchronization signal for transmission to the UE.
