Abstract:
It is the object of the invention to provide a compact and highly stable head-mount image display apparatus capable of always transmitting voice information of an optimal volume, irrespective of the positional relationship between the head and the ear of an observer, which is related to the shape and/or size of the head. To attain the object, speakers incorporated in the apparatus of the invention can be moved to desired positions in accordance with changes in the positional relationship between the head and the ears of observers. Further, the apparatus of the invention can be folded to reduce the area the apparatus occupies.
Abstract:
An optical prism (1) for reflecting incident light from an incidence surface (2) suited for incidence of light from an LCD (20) or the like for at least twice before emitting the reflected light as emission light from a predetermined emission surface (4). The optical prism has side surfaces (6L and 6R) crossing the incidence and emission surfaces (2 and 4) and including receded surfaces 7L and 7R) formed such as not to impede an optical path of an effective size, the incident light being led along the optical path from the incidence surface to the emission surface.
Abstract:
An optical prism 100 for reflecting light incident on its light incidence surface 12 suited for incidence of light from an LCD 20 at least twice within itself and emitting the reflected light as emitted light from a light emission surface 14 to the outside. The optical prism is coupled in use with a display element support 30 adapted to suit it. The side surfaces of the optical prism crossing the light incidence surface 12 and light emission surface 14 have projections 90L and 90R for mounting the optical prism on the display element support.

Abstract:
A head mounted image display includes a display body having image display sections and optical systems and a supporting section for fixing the display body in front of the eyes of an observer so that the observer can view the image display sections with his eyes. The supporting section has at least four supporting points, which are arranged so that at least one supporting point is placed outside a plane formed by at least three supporting points. Thus, the observer can comfortably wear the display.

Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a device comprising an elastic member on a substrate includes steps of: forming a sacrificial layer by forming a plurality of sacrificial sub-layers on the substrate; forming a plate member in or on the sacrificial layers connected to the substrate and substantially parallel to a top surface of the substrate; and removing the sacrificial sub-layers after forming the plate member by removing the sacrificial sub-layers in an order different from the reverse order of forming the sacrificial sub-layers.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a projection apparatus that includes a mirror element and a drive circuit for driving a laser light source for projecting an illumination light. The projection apparatus further includes mirror device for modulating the illumination light and a projection lens for projecting the modulated light from the mirror element. The mirror device is disposed on a device substrate and packaged in a package substrate made of a transparent silicon material with a metallic thermal transfer path connected to the device substrate and a cover glass covering the package substrate. The distance between the mirror and the bottom surface of the cover glass is larger than the focal length of the projection lens.
