The first and the second lens element may be affixed together. In the lens for safety glasses, the first lens element includes a substrate which contains an absorbent for selectively absorbing a laser beam having a specific wavelength in an ultraviolet wavelength region, a visible light wavelength region or an infrared wavelength legion and is transparent in the visible light wavelength region. The safety glasses with the lens may provide comfortable fit and a good appearance, causes less misjudgment of colors and prevents loss of correct color sense, and has both a laser-beam shielding function and an antiglare function.

The present invention relates to a method of producing a sulfur-containing transparent polymer by polymerizing a composition containing a (metha)acrylate monomer having sulfur in its molecule, characterized by radical polymerization of a composition containing at least one compound selected from radical chain transfer compounds and radical trapping compounds in an amount of 0.1 to 7.0% by weight of the total amount of the composition. The polymer obtained by polymerization is less colored. The method can provide a polymer having a high total light transmittance, a high refractive index and a light weight and is hardly yellowed during use.

As a result of the adsorption of the aforesaid substance to the particles, the static build-up properties, electrical conductivity, color shade, and other properties of the particles may be modified, and also it is possible to impart ultraviolet light absorbing ability and to prevent blocking between the particles.
