    Abstract: A method of decoding a color barcode involves simultaneously illuminating the color barcode with three light zones in a manner that illuminates each bar of the color barcode with each of the three spatially separated light zones, where the three light zones are each illuminated by a different one of three colors; capturing a monochrome image of light reflected off of the color barcode that includes each of the bars in the barcode illuminated by the three light zones; and for each bar in the color barcode, determining a color of the bar by analysis of the intensity of the light captured in the image of the reflected light intensity in each of the three light zones.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for cancelling noise caused by the flicker of ambient lights are provided. Such noise cancelling systems and methods may be incorporated in a laser-based barcode scanning device. In one example, a barcode scanning device includes a light source, a first sensor, a second sensor, and a noise cancelling circuit. The light source is configured to emit a beam of light. The first sensor is configured to detect a first optical signal indicative of light reflecting off of a barcode. The reflected light may originate from the light source and from at least one ambient light source in the vicinity of the barcode scanning device. The second sensor is configured to detect a second optical signal indicative of light originating from the at least one ambient light source. The noise cancelling circuit is configured to obtain a noise-cancelled scanning signal from the first and second optical signals.

    Abstract: Examples embodiments of a method and system for synchronizing active illumination pulses in a multi-sensor imager is provided. Example embodiments of the method disclosed herein include the provision of an illumination pulse for each of N sensors, each of N illumination pulses are set to have the same pulse period and active pulse width. Moreover, example embodiments include setting the active width pulse for each of the N illumination pulses to have maximum exposure time for each of N image sensors, and in further examples, ensuring that the time to capture a frame plus the time interval between subsequent image captures is the same for each sensor. In yet further examples, an offset period between subsequent frame synchronous signals is determined. In yet further example embodiments, an interval between frame captures is adjusted and a negative edge of the frame synchronous signal and an illumination pulse is aligned.
