A method for a directed emission of a fragrance, comprising mixing a first stream of air with the fragrance, emitting the first stream of air from an outlet element, and emitting a second stream of air, which is not mixed with the fragrance, in the form of a laminar flow from the outlet element, wherein the emission of the second stream of air takes place at the same time as the emission of the first stream of air, and wherein the second stream of air is emitted from the outlet element in an arrangement enclosing the first stream of air such that the second stream of air forms a laminar enveloping flow of the first stream of air after the emission from the outlet element. Also included is an outlet element and a system for the directed emission of a fragrance.

The feedback signal relates to a usage modifier of the cabin air filter, wherein the controller at east partially adjusts the estimated usage the cabin air filter from the usage modifier.

A method determines air quality in a passenger compartment (4) of a motor vehicle (2) based on measured data representative of outside air quality and an evaluation model for extrapolating interior air quality. Measured data (MD) is collected by at least one sensor (6) arranged outside the passenger compartment. The measured data is evaluated using a model (12) for the air quality in the passenger compartment (4) in order to determine output data (AD) indicative of the air quality in the passenger compartment (4). Then the output data is output to the occupants of the passenger compartment.

The disclosure relates to a motor vehicle comprising a dust sensor. The dust sensor is a scattered light photometer according to the disclosure. The scattered light photometer measures the dust load of the air in a region of the motor vehicle in which resuspended or emitted dust has a tendency to occur during travel. In addition, the motor vehicle contains a device for dust reduction, which receives measured data from the scattered light photometer, and decides, on the basis of the measured data, whether measures are to be taken against dust resuspension or dust emission. The device takes corresponding measures if the dust load exceeds a threshold value.

The invention relates to a method and a device for permitting a performance-enhancing nap in a motor vehicle. When a vehicle occupant requests a nap function, different vehicle parameters are set such that the performance-enhancing nap is promoted and the vehicle occupant enjoying the nap is woken at a specific time. According to the invention, during the nap function at least one physiological parameter of the vehicle occupant is measured, said parameter permitting conclusions to be drawn about the current depth of sleep, irrespective of any macromovements of the vehicle occupant, and the time at which the vehicle occupant is woken is selected by considering the at least one physiological parameter, such that the vehicle occupant is woken as far as possible at a time of light sleep.

A method and a system for reducing a probability of transmitting pathogens between vehicle occupants located in an interior of a vehicle is disclosed. A hazardous situation present in a vehicle interior of the vehicle is recognized, which is associated with an elevated probability of transmitting pathogens, namely by registering a vehicle occupant-related event associated with the elevated probability of transmitting pathogens, and/or by registering a current pathogen load in the vehicle interior, and/or on the basis of an instruction provided by a vehicle occupant or externally, from which the elevated probability of transmitting pathogens and thus the hazardous situation can be concluded. In the event of a recognized hazardous situation, a measured for reducing the probability of transmitting pathogens in the vehicle interior is initiated.
