    Abstract: Apparatus for reducing the translucence or opacity caused by smoke within a closed environment includes a fibrous substrate comprising non-conductive fibers. The apparatus further includes elongated, substantially parallel electrodes disposed on the substrate arranged as one or more pairs of adjacent electrodes, wherein a discharge gap is defined between each pair. The apparatus additionally includes a component configured for applying a voltage between each pair to generate a non-thermal microplasma in a corresponding discharge gap to collect or bind one or more airborne particulate combustion byproducts.

    Abstract: A grilling machine is described, which comprises a base body, a plate, arranged on the base body and defining a cooking surface whereon foods to be cooked are laid, and heating means operationally associated with the plate for heating the cooking surface. There is also a circuit, associated with the plate, for treating the fumes produced during the food cooking process. The fumes treatment circuit comprises: a hood arranged above the plate, which comprises at least one suction mouth, a filtering unit fluidically connected to the hood, and at least one recirculation outlet fluidically connected downstream of the filtering unit and located near the plate. In this manner, the cooking fumes sucked in through the suction mouth of the hood are treated by the filtering unit in order to obtain a purified flow with a given percentage of humidity. The purified flow is then recirculated towards the cooking surface through the recirculation outlet in order to exert a humidifying action on the foods.

    Abstract: A fan device including high voltage power source, conductive blade, first electrode and a resistance device is provided. Connecting side of the conductive blade is connected to first electric contact of the high voltage power source, and the conductive blade further includes a vibration side, wherein the conductive blade is extended from the connecting side to the vibration side along a first direction. The first electrode electrically connected to the second electric contact of the high voltage power source. The first electrode is disposed on a side of the vibration side of the conductive blade, and located in the vibrating range of the vibration side. The resistance device is connected between the conductive blade and the second electric contact in series.

    Abstract: An example of a species collection system includes a plurality of spaced-apart electrically conductive collectors and a plurality of emitter electrodes. In some embodiments, at least one emitter electrode is disposed between adjacent ones of the collectors. In some embodiments, the at least one emitter electrode extends beyond the collectors (e.g., in at least one dimension). Collectors may be aligned to a direction of gas flow from an outlet (e.g., of a cooling tower) to facilitate collection while minimizing interference with the gas flow. Different emitter electrodes may be maintained at different voltages. In some embodiments, collectors are attached to a collector frame and emitter electrodes are attached to emitter frame(s) that are electrically insulated from the collector frame. Collectors may span a gas outlet (e.g., of a cooling tower) and emitter frame(s) may be positioned outside of the collectors (e.g., and outside of a periphery of the gas outlet).

    Abstract: An example of a panel for use in collecting fluid in a gas stream includes a fluid collection member comprising one or more collection electrodes. The panel may include an emitter electrode assembly member comprising an emitter electrode frame and one or more emitter electrodes attached to the emitter electrode frame (e.g., disposed in a one- or two-dimensional array). The one or more emitter electrodes may be physically separated from the one or more collection electrodes. The fluid collection member may be physically connected to the emitter electrode assembly member. The one or more collection electrodes may be electrically insulated from the one or more emitter electrodes.

    Abstract: An electrical dust-collecting filter is provided. The electrical dust-collecting filter includes a dust-collecting unit having a dust-collecting body and dust-collecting electrodes configured to generate an electrical field in the dust-collecting body. The dust-collecting body has a plurality of air channels laterally formed therethrough and discharge apertures formed in upper and lower surfaces thereof at inlets of the plurality of air channels. A discharge unit is integrally formed with the dust-collecting unit at the inlets of the plurality of air channels to facilitate corona discharge in air introduced into the inlets of the plurality of air channels.
