    Abstract: A weed barrier removal assembly facilitates removal of weed barrier material. The assembly includes a mounting plate configured for coupling to a motorized vehicle. First and second arms are coupled to and extend from the mounting plate in spaced relationship to each other. A first coupler is rotatably coupled to the first arm and a second coupler is rotatably coupled to the second arm. The first and second couplers are configured for coupling to an elongated member wherein the elongated member extends between the first and second arms. A motivator is operationally coupled to the first coupler wherein the first coupler is selectively rotated by activating the motivator.

    Abstract: A suturing device for apposition of tissues is disclosed. The device comprises an introducer having a first port, a second port, and a suture port formed therethrough. First and second needle assemblies are disposed through the first and second ports, respectively. First and second ferrules are removably disposed in the first and second ports, respectively, at a distal end of the introducer. The first and second ferrules are configured to receive the first and second assemblies, respectively, for tissue apposition. A fastener for attaching suture wires is disposed in the suture port at the distal end of the introducer. First and second suture wires are attached to the first and second ferrules, respectively, and extend through the fastener for apposition of tissues.

    Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide cyanobacteria spp. that have been genetically engineered to have increased production of carbon-based products of interest. These genetically engineered hosts efficiently convert carbon dioxide and light into carbon-based products of interest such as long chained hydrocarbons. Several constructs containing polynucleotides encoding enzymes active in the metabolic pathways of cyanobacteria are disclosed. In many instances, the cyanobacteria strains have been further genetically modified to optimize production of the carbon-based products of interest. The optimization includes both up-regulation and down-regulation of particular genes.
