摘要: The present disclosure includes a composition that includes an ethylene/α-olefin random copolymer having density of 0.890 g/cm3 or less, a melting point of 100° C. or less, and a melt index from 0.2 g/10 min to 8.0 g/10 min, a styrenic block copolymer M comprising from 1 wt % to less than 50 wt % units of styrene, a tackifier, and an oil. The composition may exhibit an overall melt index of the composition of from 2 g/10 min to 15 g/10 min. The composition can be used as an adhesive in some embodiments. The present disclosure also includes multilayer films that include the composition, which may provide reclose functionality to the multilayer film. The multilayer films that include the composition may provide low initial opening force and improved reclose adhesion through multiple reclose cycles. The present disclosure also includes various types of reclosable packaging articles that include the multilayer films and adhesive compositions.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. In an embodiment, the water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition includes (A) an acrylic dispersion composed of particles of (i) an acrylic-based polymer with a glass transition temperature (Tg) less than −20° C., and (ii) a surfactant. The water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition also includes (B) an ethylene acid dispersion composed of (i) particles of an ethylene acid copolymer having from 3 wt % to less than 50 wt % acid comonomer and a melt index from 1 g/10 min to 100 g/10 min, and (ii) at least one of a dispersant or a neutralizing agent. Further disclosed are articles with the water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive composition.

摘要: Methods of curtain coating substrates are disclosed. In some embodiments, the methods include applying two or more liquid layers simultaneously to a substrate, wherein the multiple layers include a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid, and another liquid layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid. In some embodiments, the disclosed methods include formulating a bottom layer liquid comprising a shear thinning liquid, formulating another layer liquid comprising a viscoelastic liquid, pumping the bottom layer liquid and the other layer liquid through coating dies simultaneously and onto a moving substrate such that the bottom layer liquid impinges on the substrate thereby forming a bottom layer, and the other layer liquid forms another liquid layer above the bottom liquid layer. The inclusion of a bottom liquid layer comprising a shear thinning liquid and other layer comprising a viscoelastic liquid provides for enlargement of the curtain coating window.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to a reclosable package comprises a front wall, a rear wall, and an upper closure. At the upper closure, at least a portion of a surface of the rear wall is sealed to an exterior surface of the front wall at a first adhesion strength. According to embodiments, the application of a force greater than the first adhesion strength to the rear wall in a direction away from the front wall is operable to separate the portion of a surface of the rear wall from the exterior surface of the front wall. After, the return of the portion of the surface of the rear wall and an application of a force on the rear wall in the direction of the front wall is operable to reseal the portion of the interior surface of the rear wall to the exterior surface of the front wall.

摘要: Water-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising (a) an acrylic emulsion having a glass transition temperature of less than or equal to 20° C., (b) optionally, a dispersant or a silane-containing compound, and (c) an ethylene or propylene copolymer emulsion. In some embodiments, (a) comprises from 75 to 99 wt % of the compositions, (b), when present, comprises from 0.1 to 5 wt % of the compositions, and (c) comprises from 0.1 to 25 wt % of the composition, each based on the dry weight of the compositions. Methods for preparing water-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are also disclosed comprising emulsion polymerizing at least one unsaturated monomer, thereby forming an emulsion polymer having a glass transition temperature of less than or equal to −10° C. and blending the emulsion polymer together with a dispersant or silane-containing compound and an ethylene or propylene copolymer emulsion. Water-based pressure sensitive adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesive films are also disclosed.

摘要: Water-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising an acrylic copolymer formed from a monomer mixture comprising, based on the total weight of monomers in the monomer mixture, (a) from 60 to 80 percent by weight 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, (b) from 10 to 30 percent by weight butyl acrylate, (c) from 3 to 7 percent by weight methyl methacrylate, (d) from 0.1 to 3 percent by weight styrene, (e) from 0.1 to 1 percent by weight (meth)acrylic acid, wherein the acrylic copolymer has an acid content of less than 1 percent by weight, based on the total weight of the monomers in the monomer mixture. Methods for preparing pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are also disclosed comprising preparing a monomer emulsion by dispersing a monomer mixture and a surfactant in an aqueous medium, and introducing an initiator to the monomer emulsion, thereby polymerizing the monomer mixture to form an acrylic copolymer suitable for use in a pressure sensitive adhesive composition.
