摘要: A method for inhibiting scale comprises adding to a fluid that causes scale formation a polycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof which has a star structure and at least 5 arms. A star polymer comprising a core based on 2,2′-[Oxybis(methylene)]bis[2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol] and 6 arms comprising linear polycarboxylic acids of degree of polymerization (DP) of the arm of at least 2 and in some embodiments up to 15 or more is useful in inhibiting scale formation.

摘要: Solvent-based adhesive composition are disclosed, the compositions comprising (A) a polyester-urethane resin, (B) a phosphate ester compound, and (C) an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent. Methods for preparing a solvent-based adhesive composition, the methods comprising providing a polyester-urethane resin, providing a phosphate ester compound, mixing the polyester-urethane resin and phosphate ester compound to form a resin mixture, diluting the resin mixture in a solvent to form a diluted resin mixture having an application solid content of from 25 to 55 weight percent, based on the total weight of the diluted resin mixture, and curing the diluted resin mixture with an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent at a mix ratio (parts by weight resin mixture before dilution:parts by weight aliphatic isocyanate curing agent) of from 100:1 to 100:12. Laminates prepared comprising the solvent-based adhesives and according to the disclosed methods are also disclosed.

摘要: The present invention relates to a stable aqueous dispersion of multiphase amphoteric polymer particles comprising a crosslinked polymer phase comprising structural units of a phosphorus acid monomer, a carboxylic acid monomer, a multiethylenically unsaturated monomer, and an ethylenically unsaturated nonionic monomer; and a second polymer phase comprising a carboxylic acid monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated nonionic monomer. The present invention also relates to composites of the particles and pigment particles such as TiO2. The composition is useful for preparing dried coatings with improved hiding.

摘要: A branched polycarboxylic acid or salt thereof, wherein the average number of branches is (2) to (100) and the average degree of polymerization of the branches is (2) to (50), is an effective polymeric dispersant. More specifically, the polymeric dispersant is a branched polycarboxylic acid or salt thereof, in which the branched polycarboxylic acid is derived from polymerization of (meth)acrylic acid; the average degree of polymerization is (10) to (150); the average number of branches is (2) to (20); and the average degree of polymerization of the branches is (2) to (30). The branched polycarboxylic acid or salt thereof can be combined with a pigment to form an aqueous dispersion. An aqueous coating composition includes the aqueous dispersion; a polymeric binder; and a rheology modifier.
