Abstract:
In a power generator, a start of rotor rotation is detected by utilizing a small AC voltage in a stator winding generated by a remaining magnetic flux. A leak current which flows to the power generator from a battery is passed to a negative terminal of the battery through a resistor temporarily connected in series so that a small amplitude of the AC voltage will not be masked by DC drifting component arising from the leak current. Further, periodically connecting the resistor to the negative terminal upon an increase in the leak current reduces an amplitude of the AC voltage.
Abstract:
A controller for an alternator driven by an output torque of an automotive engine mechanically through a belt is provided. The controller works to control an exciting current supplied to a field winding of the alternator so as to cancel a change in inertia torque of a rotor of the alternator arising from a change in speed of the engine, thereby minimizing a change in tension of the belt.

A generator control system of a vehicle AC generator includes a field coil, a first polyphase armature winding, a second polyphase armature winding, a first rectifier connected to the first armature winding and a second rectifier connected to the second armature winding. The generation control system includes a power transistor connected with the field coil, a voltage regulator for controlling the power transistor, a voltage comparator for providing a pulse signal by comparing output voltage of one of phase-windings of the first armature winding with one of second phase-windings of the second armature winding and a counter circuit for driving the voltage regulator when the number of pulses of the pulse signal becomes larger than a predetermined value.
Abstract:
A vehicular AC generator comprises a resistor for ground one-phase output terminal in an armature coil, a switch means for connecting and disconnecting at least one-phase output terminal out of the other phases of the armature coil to and from the ground, and a control unit for controlling the switch means. The switch means is controlled ON and OFF in accordance with a voltage generated across the resistor. According to this configuration, in the event of occurrence of leakage current in the armature coil, the occurrence of the leakage current is detected based on the voltage generated across the resistor and the switch means is closed, whereby the leakage current is allowed to escape to ground and an actual signal from the resistor is detected easily.

The control device controls charge and discharge of the sub-battery according to at least one of a state of charge of the main battery and a state of power generation of the power generator.

A power generating system for a vehicle is configured to include a power generator, a voltage control device which controls an output voltage of the power generator, a battery which is charged by output power of the power generator, and an ECU which transmits a power generation suppression signal for suppressing power generation by the power generator when a predetermined condition is satisfied toward the voltage control device. The ECU detects a state of the battery, and inhibits transmission of the power generation suppression signal when quantity of this state is below a predetermined value.
Abstract:
An automotive alternator is provided which includes a rectifier, a circulating circuit, and a controller. The circulating circuit is connected in parallel to a field winding to circulate the field current in the event that supply of the field current to a field winding is cut. The circulating circuit consists of a first circuit formed by a diode and a second circuit working to enhance attenuation of the field current. The controller works to select the second circuit when a voltage of the output of the rectifier exceeds a reference value and select the first circuit when the voltage of the output of the rectifier is less than the reference value.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for detecting a rotation by utilizing a residual magnetism remaining in a core, when a field current attenuates gradually through a current return diode during a deceleration period for the stop of rotation, there occurs an AC demagnetizing action which causes the field current to attenuate, so that also during the deceleration period, the supply of electric power to a control circuit and field current to a field coil are continued.
Abstract:
Shift means shifts a rotation speed range to a low rotation speed side based on an electricity amount related to rotation speed. In the rotation speed range, driving torque of a generator is suddenly changes as a result of an increase of duty ratio of a switch due to a shortage of generation capacity caused by a reduction of a rotation speed of a vehicle alternator. Preferably, the shift means shifts the rotation speed range to the low rotation speed side by changing the adjust voltage based on the electricity amount related to rotation speed while the rotation speed is reduced.
Abstract:
A voltage control apparatus checks a battery voltage when an automotive generator gradually increases its output to be within a predetermined range after temporarily stopping the generator. Then, the battery voltage is picked up to calculate the charge rate. Further, a first charge rate and a first residual capacity of the battery is memorized when the engine is stopped. Periodically, a pseudo-open circuit voltage is checked when a charge/discharge current fits within a predetermined small range while the engine is not running, and a second charge rate calculated based on the checked pseudo-open circuit voltage. A second residual capacity is calculated using the first charge rate, the first residual capacity and the second charge rate.
