Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to determining a first radio as a downlink for transmitting data frames from a first wireless endpoint device to second wireless endpoint devices, determining a second radio as an uplink for transmitting data frames from the second wireless endpoint devices to the first wireless endpoint device, enabling transmissions of data frames from the second wireless endpoint devices to the first wireless endpoint device on the uplink, detecting a first data frame with a latency requirement to be transmitted from the first wireless endpoint device to a targeted second wireless endpoint device, replacing any data frame not associated with a latency requirement in an aggregated MAC protocol data unit with the first data frame, and transmitting the first data frame to the targeted second wireless endpoint device on the downlink.

Abstract: An access point determines the highest signal strength at which it can detect transmissions from other access points or overlapping-basic-service-set (OBSS) client devices associated with the other access points. The access point sets an OBSS packet-detect threshold to the lesser of a minimum cell-size threshold or the highest signal strength and sets a receiver start-of-packet (RxSOP) threshold to the OBSS packet-detect threshold minus an offset. The access point avoids decoding incoming packets when respective signal strengths of the incoming packets do not satisfy the RxSOP threshold. The access point also avoids initiating transmission when incoming packets from the other access points or from the OBSS client devices have signal strengths that satisfy the OBSS packet-detect threshold.

Abstract: An access point in a wireless network communicates wirelessly with one or more client devices over a channel that includes a plurality of subchannels. Each subchannel corresponds to a distinct frequency chunk with a respective plurality of subcarriers. Radar is detected on a first subchannel. In response, a selection is made between (i) redefining the channel and (ii) puncturing the first subchannel while continuing to use all other subchannels. Puncturing the first subchannel includes muting subcarriers on the first subchannel. Redefining the channel includes removing multiple subchannels from the channel. The selection is based at least in part on one or more factors that provide indications as to whether puncturing would be efficient and/or effective. The access point continues to communicate wirelessly with the one or more client devices in accordance with the selection.
