摘要: An air cell includes a positive electrode layer, an electrolyte layer stacked on the positive electrode layer, a negative electrode layer stacked on the electrolyte layer and an electroconductive liquid-tight ventilation layer stacked on the positive electrode layer, the electroconductive liquid-tight ventilation layer being positioned on the opposite side of the positive electrode from the electrolyte layer. The assembled battery is provided with a plurality of the air cells described above. The assembled battery is provided with a flow path through which oxygen-containing gas flows interposed between the electrically-conductive liquid-tight ventilation layer of a first air cell and the negative electrode layer of a second air cell adjacent to the first air cell. The first air cell is electrically connected to the negative electrode layer of the second air cell via the electrically-conductive liquid-tight ventilation layer.

摘要: A fuel cell stack and method of manufacturing a fuel cell stack having a highly anti-corrosive property. The fuel cell stack includes a plurality of cells constructed by interposing an electrolyte membrane electrode assembly between the first and second separators. The first and second separators define gas passages on from both sides of the electrolyte membrane electrode assembly, and a gas manifold is in fluid communication with the gas flow passages through the plurality of stacked cells. Manifold openings for defining the gas manifold are formed in the first and second separators, and the opening areas of the manifold openings are differently sized. The manifold opening inner peripheral end of the first separator has a larger opening area, and is welded to the second separator to form a manifold welding portion.

摘要: A fuel cell which includes: a membrane electrode assembly (7) including an electrolyte membrane (1) and a pair of porous electrodes (3, 5) provided on both sides of the electrolyte membrane (1); and first and second separators (9,11) sandwiching the membrane electrode assembly (7). Each of the first and second separators (9, 11) is formed to have, on its surface opposite to the membrane electrode assembly (1), a gas flow path (17,19) and a rib (21, 23) defining the gas flow path (17, 19). The rib (21, 23) of at least one of the first and second separators (9,11) is provided with a projection (25) for pressing the porous electrode (3, 5).
