    摘要: Masonry structures are susceptible to cracking due to distortion caused by movement of their foundation, vibration, and/or drying out subsequent to the construction of the structure. Such cracking often occurs after the structure has been painted. This results in the crack being transmitted through the coating of paint. Upon repainting of the masonry structure new cracks often develop and are transmitted through the paint coating within a short period of time.This invention discloses a crack resistant coating for masonary structures comprising:(1) a crack absorbing layer which is contiguous to the masonry structure which contains beads which are essentially spherical and which are bound by a resin binder, and(2) a conventional coating layer which is contiguous to and covers the crack absorbing layer.

    摘要: An outlet cover assembly is described that provides a base portion with a face plate opening for two face plates that are removable from the base portion. One of the face plates has a jack opening for retaining a jack therein. A retaining hook assembly for the jack is provided by a first hook detail that located on the face plate and a second hook detail located on the cover panel. When the face plate is secured within the face plate opening, the first and second hook details become aligned opposite one another and are operable to selectively engage hook portions on the jack. Because each of the hook details are formed on separate components, neither component must be formed using a collapsible insert.

    摘要: An acoustic lining for a flow duct has a first perforate skin fixed to an underlying sound-absorbing layer. The first perforate skin is overlain by a second perforate skin which forms the wall of the flow duct. One of the skins is relatively moveable in a sliding sense with respect to the other skin so as to vary the acoustic impedance of the duct wall as the perforations in the respective skins slide into and out of registration with each other. This enables the acoustic impedance of the duct wall to be varied to suit the flow and noise conditions prevailing in the duct and so obtain optimum noise attenuation in the duct, which may be the intake duct of a turbofan aeroengine.
