Abstract:
A micro-needle device (100, 200, 300) for delivering a dental local anesthetic that includes a micro-needle array (102, 202, 302) and a hollow spheroid shaped container (108, 208, 308). The micro-needle array has a base (104, 204, 304)and two or more of an elongate micro-needle (106, 206, 306). The elongate micro-needle has an interior surface (110, 210, 310) defining an opening (112, 212, 312) through the elongate micro-needle and the base has a first major surface (114, 214, 314) and a second major surface (116, 216, 316) through which the opening of the elongate micro-needle passes to provide a passage across the base. The hollow spheroid shaped container includes an inside surface (120, 220, 320), where the first major surface of the base and the inside surface of the hollow spheroid shaped container define a volume that is in fluid connection with each opening of the two or more of the elongate micro-needle. This allows the dental local anesthetic to flow from the volume of the micro-needle device through the opening of the two or more of the elongate micro-needle.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device (10) for dispensing a dental material. The device (10) comprises a body (12) having at least one compartment (14) for receiving the dental material, at least one piston for extruding the dental material from the compartment (14) and a drive for moving the piston and the compartment (14) relative to one another. The device (10) further comprises a stand (36) which is mounted to the body (12) such that the body (12) and the stand (36) are pivotally moveable relative to one other.
Abstract:
A dispensing device for dental material, which includes a planetary gear drive with at least three planet gears in engagement with an annulus gear. The annulus gear is radial float-mounted relative to the planet gears. A radial force applied on the annulus gear urges the annulus gear into an off-center relationship with respect to an imaginary circle on which the planet gears are arranged.
Abstract:
A system for dispensing a dental material comprises a cartridge from which the dental material is extrudable. The cartridge comprises a operating means and an interface for transmitting a cartridge output based on a user input. The system further has a dental dispensing device having a receptacle for receiving the cartridge and an interface for receiving the cartridge output. The system helps maximizing reliability and maximizing safety in operation for dispensing dental material.
Abstract:
A device for dispensing a dental substance comprises a chamber for the dental substance, a dispensing receptacle, and a dispensing outlet. The dispensing receptacle is shaped to define a predetermined volume capacity between the dispensing outlet and an opening of the receptacle. Thus the receptacle is adapted to receive a predetermined portion of the dental substance dispensed from the dispensing outlet. The device further is adapted such that for dispensing the portion of the dental substance the chamber is reducible in volume. The device may facilitate metering and dispensing of dental substances.
