Abstract:
A dispensing device for dental retraction material. The dispensing device has a cannula that forms a free front end. The free front end is formed by a first cannula portion and a second cannula portion that is arranged directly adjacent the first cannula portion. The first cannula portion has a first elongated section and a first rounded section. The second cannula portion has a second elongated section and a second rounded section. A first outer diameter (D1) of the cannula is defined on the first rounded section at the free front end, and a second outer diameter (D2) of the cannula is defined on the second rounded section at the transition between the second rounded section and the first cannula portion. The second outer diameter is greater than the first outer diameter. The first cannula portion comprises a predetermined separation structure directly adjacent the second cannula portion. The first cannula portion can be broken or cut off to provide the dispensing device with a new free front end.
Abstract:
A capsule for mixing and dispensing a dental material which has a body forming a cavity. The cavity is closed by a liquid container. The body and the liquid container in combination form a mixing chamber containing a first component of the dental material. The liquid container has a cup-shaped cartridge formed by a cartridge front wall and a cartridge side wall and having a rear opening. A plug is movably joined within the cartridge through the rear opening for extruding a liquid second component of the dental material. The cartridge further has a channel extending through the cartridge side wall for releasing the second component into the mixing chamber. The body side wall inwardly has a recess being dimensioned for establishing a fluid communication between the channel and the cavity in an activated position, where the activated position corresponds to a second axial position of a two different axial positions of the of the cartridge and the body relative to each other. Further the first axial position corresponds to an inactivated position in which the channel is offset from the recess. A first cover film seals the joint between the cartridge and the plug, and the channel is openably sealed by a second cover film at least in the inactivated position. The capsule helps facilitating the preparation of a dental material.
Abstract:
A dispensing gun for dispensing a dental material. The dispensing gun has a body with a receptacle for receiving a cartridge therein, a plunger that is displaceable relative to the receptacle, and a lever that is suspended pivotally relative to the body. The plunger has a linear toothing and the lever has an annular gear segment. The linear toothing and the annular gear segment are permanently engaged with each other so that any pivot of the lever in a first direction causes the plunger to displace forward and any pivot of the lever in an opposite second direction causes the plunger to displace backward.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a process for taking a dental impression and/or conducting a dental retraction, the process comprising the steps of (a) providing a composition (A) having the consistency (a1), composition (A) comprising curable components, and a catalyst suitable to initiate or catalyze the curing of the curable components, composition (A) being contained in a device, (b) applying a portion (I) of composition (A) with a consistency (a2) into the sulcus of a tooth, (c) applying a portion (II) of composition (A) with a consistency (a1) in contact with composition (A) applied in step (b), (d) removing portion (I) together with portion (II) of composition (A) from the surface of the tooth, consistency (a2) being higher than consistency (a1).
Abstract:
A device for use in retracting a gingiva from a human tooth by widening a gingival sulcus with a dental composition. The device comprises a cannula with a free end having an opening for dispensing the dental composition. The free end is shaped to be inserted with its front in the entry of the gingival sulcus, and to laterally displace the gingiva from the tooth as the cannula is moved in the gingival sulcus. The invention may help to achieve a reliable and cost effective gingival retraction treatment.
Abstract:
A device for dispensing a material has a container for holding the material, a piston movably arranged within the container and a spindle in cooperation with the piston. The device is configured such that the spindle and the container are rotatable relative to each other to move the piston for dispensing the material. The piston and the spindle are adapted to anti-twist lock against each other in a first axial position of the piston relative to spindle. And in a second axial position of the piston relative to spindle the anti-twist lock between the piston and the spindle is suspended. The device helps minimizing any residual dental material upon attempting to empty the device.

Abstract:
A device for dispensing a dental substance comprises a chamber for the dental substance, a dispensing receptacle, and a dispensing outlet. The dispensing receptacle is shaped to define a predetermined volume capacity between the dispensing outlet and an opening of the receptacle. Thus the receptacle is adapted to receive a predetermined portion of the dental substance dispensed from the dispensing outlet. The device further is adapted such that for dispensing the portion of the dental substance the chamber is reducible in volume. The device may facilitate metering and dispensing of dental substances.
Abstract:
Provided is a cartridge assembly comprising a cartridge for containing a dental substance. The cartridge comprises a dispensing opening for the dental substance. Further the cartridge assembly comprises a piston having a receptacle for establishing a screw connection with a spindle for moving the piston for dispensing the dental substance. This assembly helps minimize costs in the manufacturing and use of dental cartridges and/or dental dispensing devices.
