    摘要: Provided is a method to drive an image display medium. The method may include applying a variable voltage to a common electrode provided in a first substrate, applying a second voltage to a pixel electrode provided in a second substrate through active matrix driving, wherein the image display medium includes a plurality of kinds of particles sealed between the first and second substrates, the plurality kinds of particles having different threshold characteristics of voltages required to move the particles between the first and second substrates; and controlling through a controller to apply a third voltage between the first and second substrates through a plurality of steps in which the third voltage minimizes particle movements between the first and second substrates during a deviation time such that particles do not move when a potential difference between the first and second substrates is equal to or less than the threshold characteristics of the particles, wherein the deviation time is generated due to deviation of a scanning timing and the potential difference between the first and second substrates.

    摘要: An image display device and image display method are provided. The device and method can prevent changes in image density and contrast, which are caused by repeated displaying over long periods of time and changes in environment, by employing accurate electric current detection, due to the following operations. Voltage measurement is initiated with a detection circuit. Next, the application of drive voltage is initiated with a drive power source. An electric current value is calculated from the measured voltage value and the electric current value is temporarily stored. The electric current values are stored every set amount of time and the storage thereof accumulates. Application of the drive voltage is terminated and the integral value of the electric current is calculated in accordance with formulas.

    摘要: In an image display device of the present invention, a display substrate has m row electrodes, and a back surface substrate has n column electrodes. The display substrate and the back surface substrate are disposed so as to face one another and such that the electrodes thereof are orthogonal to one another (a simple matrix structure). A top-plane side driving portion is structured by a row electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the row electrode driving circuit and the row electrodes. The backplane side driving portion is structured by a column electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the column electrode driving circuit and the column electrodes. In accordance with the image display device, when a large screen is formed by using a plurality of same image display media, images can be displayed normally at all of the image display media.
