摘要： A medium writing apparatus obtains information to be written onto a recording medium, converts the information into a suitable writable format, and then writes the converted information onto the recording medium. An ID obtaining section obtains a medium ID from the recording medium, or through an input by the user. The medium ID and information indicating the place of the written information are sent to a server, and then stored as index information correlating them with each other. When the information written onto the recording medium is to be used at a later timing, the medium ID is identified, and the index information is obtained from the server. Therefore, the original information can be obtained so as to be easily reprocessed or reused.

摘要： There is provided a driving device for an image display medium that drives the image display medium including: a display substrate; a back surface substrate; plural first electrodes; plural second electrodes; and particles enclosed between the display substrate and the back surface substrate so as to move according to an electric field generated between the substrates by applying a voltage corresponding to an image between the first and second electrodes; the driving device including: a voltage application section that applies the voltage corresponding to an image between the first and second electrodes, the voltage application section, as a display drive voltage to be applied for each pixel to display a desired color at each pixel, applying a first pulse voltage that can cause the particles in a stationary state to start moving and thereafter applying a second pulse voltage that can cause the particles that have started moving to move.

摘要： An image display device and image display method are provided. The device and method can prevent changes in image density and contrast, which are caused by repeated displaying over long periods of time and changes in environment, by employing accurate electric current detection, due to the following operations. Voltage measurement is initiated with a detection circuit. Next, the application of drive voltage is initiated with a drive power source. An electric current value is calculated from the measured voltage value and the electric current value is temporarily stored. The electric current values are stored every set amount of time and the storage thereof accumulates. Application of the drive voltage is terminated and the integral value of the electric current is calculated in accordance with formulas.

摘要： In an image display device of the present invention, a display substrate has m row electrodes, and a back surface substrate has n column electrodes. The display substrate and the back surface substrate are disposed so as to face one another and such that the electrodes thereof are orthogonal to one another (a simple matrix structure). A top-plane side driving portion is structured by a row electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the row electrode driving circuit and the row electrodes. The backplane side driving portion is structured by a column electrode driving circuit, a reversing portion, and a reversing switch. When the reversing switch is on, the reversing portion reverses relationships of connection between the column electrode driving circuit and the column electrodes. In accordance with the image display device, when a large screen is formed by using a plurality of same image display media, images can be displayed normally at all of the image display media.
