Abstract:
A device for purifying at least one fluid is provided. The device includes at least a first ion exchange column, an inlet line and an outlet line. The inlet line and the outlet line are associated with a cover part, the inlet line is connected to a first supply line into a first free space between a bottom part and at least one nozzle insert, which is formed as a first bottom nozzle insert, and the nozzle insert has a number of openings for the passage of the fluid. The openings are distributed over at least a partial surface of the nozzle insert, by which the fluid can be introduced into a first volume of the ion exchange column which can be filled with an ion exchange resin.
Abstract:
Embodiments relate generally to methods and systems for detecting and indicating end-of-service-life in disposable filtration masks. Applicant has proposed incorporating end-of-service-life indicators comprising color changing chemicals into the mask. The indicating chemicals may be incorporated into the nonwoven fabric material of the mask, or may be attached to the nonwoven material of the mask, such as by dipping, spraying, or adhering. The color change of the indicating chemicals may indicate to a user that the use life of the mask has been depleted.
Abstract:
A LIDAR optical remote sensing system and method analyzes the falling edge profile of a return LIDAR signal that may be indicative of an object or an aerosol cloud, which is generally more diffuse. Using the falling edge profile permits burnthrough to an object that may be obscured by the aerosol cloud. The profile is compared against at least one threshold that may correspond, in various embodiments, to a negative slope of the falling edge, an integrated power under the falling edge, or a range estimate error for varying transmitted power values, varying transmitted pulse lengths and/or varying receiver detector field of view values.
Abstract:
Alignment of a clock signal to a particular phase is described. In one aspect, a method includes receiving an incoming clock signal and multiple phased clock signals, each of the phased clock signals having a different phase and a substantially same phase offset from another phased clock signal. At least one detection signal based on the incoming and phased clock signals is provided, and one or more errors contributed by noise in at least the incoming clock signal are corrected in the at least one detection signal. Based on the at least one detection signal, one of the phased clock signals is selected as the most closely aligned of the phased clock signals to the predetermined clock phase, and the selected clock signal is output.
Abstract:
An image editing application (or a blur classification module thereof) may automatically estimate a coherent defocus blur map from a single input image. The application may represent the blur spectrum as a differentiable function of radius r, and the optimal radius may be estimated by optimizing the likelihood function through a gradient descent algorithm. The application may generate the spectrum function over r through polynomial-based fitting. After fitting, the application may generate look-up tables to store values for the spectrum and for its first and second order derivatives, respectively. The use of these tables in the likelihood optimization process may significantly reduce the computational costs of a given blur estimation exercise. The application may minimize an energy function that includes a data term, a smoothness term, and a smoothness parameter that is adaptive to local image content. The output blur map may be used for image object depth estimation.

Abstract:
A phase detector and control signal generator responds to a reference signal and a feedback signal to produce a non-delayed up and down signal. A programmable delay unit delays the non-delayed up and down signal to provide up and down signals for a charge pump. A divider configured to respond to the up and down signals provides a divided clock signal. A non-overlapped clock generator configured to respond to the divided clock signal to provide non-overlapped hold even and hold odd signals for the switched-capacitor ripple-smoothing filter.
Abstract:
A signal transmitting circuit includes a driving circuit, and a plurality of receiving circuits receiving signals transmitted from the driving circuit. Each of the receiving circuits is coupled to the driving circuit consecutively via a transmission line. A voltage regulator is coupled to the driving circuit and the receiving circuits and provides power to the driving circuit and the receiving circuits. A number of capacitors are coupled between the voltage regulator and the ground for filtering the noise of the power output from the voltage regulator. The capacitors between the voltage regulator and the north bridge chipset filtering the noise of the power output from the voltage regulator maintain signal integrity as the terminal resistor does. It is of advantage that the signal transmitting circuit is simple to manufacture and very suitable for mass production.
Abstract:
A switched-capacitor ripple-smoothing filter includes a first pair of capacitors. The filter is configured such that either capacitor in the first pair may be reset and have a terminal coupled to a first input port and such that the remaining capacitor in the first pair is isolated from the first input port and has the terminal coupled to a first output port while the other capacitor is being charged. The filter further includes a second pair of capacitors, the filter being configured such that either capacitor in the second pair may be reset and have a terminal coupled to a second input port and such that the remaining capacitor in the second pair is isolated from the second input port and has the terminal coupled to a second output port while the other capacitor in the second pair is being charged. Advantageously, the filter is configured such that the capacitors in the first and second pair are reset responsive to the assertion of a single reset signal.
