摘要: A pyroelectric or ferroelectric sensing element consists of a substrate with a thin layer of sodium nitrite. Electrodes may be applied to both sides of the sodium nitrite layer, or, alternatively, only one electrode may be used. In one embodiment, an array of electrodes is applied to one side of a continuous sodium nitrite layer, while the other side has a continuous electrode. In another embodiment, the sodium nitrite layer consists of separate portions, each interposed between one electrode of an electrode array and either the substrate or a second, continuous electrode.

摘要: Sodium nitrite in liquid form is deposited on a substrate and allowed to crystallize thereby forming a thin layer on the substrate. The substrate is either dipped into a solution containing sodium nitrite or into sodium nitrite in the molten state and then pulled out again. Subsequent drying or cooling of the wetted substrate top surface causes the crystalline film to form. Alternatively, sodium nitrite in a liquid state is applied to the top surface of the substrate and the substrate is rotated to assure an even distribution of the sodium nitrite. Again, drying or cooling causes the crystalline layer to form. The so manufactured unit is shown as part of a pyroelectric radiation detector, as image receiver in a television camera tube and as the storage element in a field effect transistor arrangement.

摘要: A plate-type heat exchanger for oil/coolant coolers on heat exchange media, as a rule, flow non-uniformly through known plate-type heat exchanger whose hollow chambers are provided with metal turbulence inserts because of the arrangement of these turbulence inserts. For increasing the heat exchange capacity, it is provided to divide the turbulence insert into sections in which a different alignment of rolled metal turbulence sheets takes place in each case. The sections are divided with respect to one another by separating cuts and, because of the different arrangement of their corrugations, have different flow resistances in sections for the flowing-through medium. As a result of this further development, it is possible to achieve a uniform flow in the hollow chambers.

摘要: Finned-tube blocks of charge air coolers of stacked construction are provided with end strips forming a tube bottom. Side surfaces of the end strips adjoining the coolant ducts are configured as exterior surfaces of lips projecting in a direction of the corrugated fins, the tips of these lips not touching the corrugated fins. The end strip cross-section, however, uniformly increases toward the side facing away from the corrugated fins. This further development leads to a considerable reduction of thermal induced tension peaks and therefore contributes to lengthening the useful life of charge air coolers provided with such finned-tube blocks.

摘要: A fin-tube block for a heat exchanger and method of making same are disclosed. The thermal stress on fin-tube blocks of charge air coolers is considerable in the vicinity of the side parts, which can be attributed among other things to the rapid heating of the fin-shaped corrugated ribs and the comparatively slow warming of the side parts. The outermost corrugated rib layer abutting the side parts, opposite to the charge air flow, is displaced forward over the intake edge of the fin-tube block into the intake area for the charge air formed in the side parts and water tanks. In this way, more rapid heating of the side parts can be achieved.
