摘要: To provide a storage management technique for creating and managing, with single operation by a user, a large quantity of writable snapshots, which satisfy a requirement desired by the user, while controlling a use form of a storage apparatus not to exceed limits of the performance and the capacity of the storage apparatus. Therefore, a management computer manages configuration information and performance information of plural storage apparatuses and an operation state of a writable snapshot. When a writable snapshot is created, the management computer controls, concerning an original snapshot, a use form of the storage apparatuses not to exceed a disk performance limit and a controller performance limit and a capacity limit of a storage on the basis of the number of writable snapshots to be created and a performance requirement (IOPS) and a capacity requirement of the writable snapshot.

摘要: In a computer system composed of a computer in which a plurality of VMs (Virtual Machines) are operated and a storage system, when a patch of an OS in the VM is applied, update data accompanying the application of the patch is stored in each VM image, causing increase of load of the storage system accompanying the concentration of read requests and the elongation of the patch applying process time. Therefore, the present invention provides a high-speed patch applying method to the VMs. When a patch applying request from a user using the VM is received and a patch is applied to the first VM, the patch is applied after creating a replication of the original GI (Golden Image) by which a new GI is created, and the new GI is used when the patch is applied to the second and subsequent VMs. During a patch applying process of the VM, a VM image is created from a new GI, and a path information related to the VM image is changed to thereby execute the patch applying process.

摘要: A power supply device includes battery cells, separators, and fastening members. The plurality of battery cells have a rectangular-box exterior shape. The separators are interposed between the battery cells, which are arranged side by side. The fastening members securely hold a battery assembly of the battery cells and the separators, which are alternately arranged side by side. The surfaces of each of the battery cells is covered by an electrically insulating covering member. Each of the separators has recessed parts that form a plurality of gas-flowing paths between the battery cells so that cooling gas can flow along surfaces of these battery cells when this separator is interposed between these battery cells. Edge parts of the recessed part, which forms the gas-flowing paths, are rounded.

摘要: A storage cluster including a first storage apparatus and a second storage apparatus is defined. Communication between the first storage apparatus and the second storage apparatus uses a first network and an access request from a host computer uses a second network. Each of the first and second storage apparatuses defines internal LUs by using storage devices included in that storage apparatus. The first storage apparatus defines other internal LUs by using internal LUs of the second storage apparatus and the second storage apparatus defines other internal LUs by using internal LUs of the first storage apparatus.

摘要: In a management computer which manages a storage system including a main logical volume and subsidiary logical volumes, when the access volume to the main logical volume exceeds a threshold value, a subsidiary logical volume associated with a physical volume having higher input/output performance than the physical volume associated with the main logical volume is selected. When the migration time of the data stored in the physical volume corresponding to the selected subsidiary logical volume is within a prescribed time period, then data stored in the physical volume corresponding to the main logical volume is migrated to the physical volume corresponding to the selected subsidiary logical volume, and the physical volume corresponding to the selected subsidiary logical volume is associated with the main logical volume.
