摘要: In an organic/inorganic composite superlattice type optical modulator capable of entering/projecting light, and capable of modulating an optical characteristic such as transmittance, reflectivity, and a refractive index of light in response to an externally controlled electric field, or light, the organic/inorganic composite superlattice type optical modulator includes at least one type of a compound semiconductor layer and at least one type of an organic compound layer; the compound semiconductor layer and the organic compound layer are alternately stacked in greater than one period; at least one of the compound semiconductor layer and the organic compound layer being crystalline; and also a thickness of each of the layers is made larger than a Bohr radius of the compound semiconductor and smaller than 10 times the Bohr radius. As a result, this novel optical modulator can provide a high nonlinear characteristic by a semiconductor modulator, and a high response characteristic by an organic modulator.

摘要: A semiconductor integrated circuit in which the storage capacitor has an increased capacitance and a decreased leakage current. The storage capacitor is formed by the steps of: forming a polysilicon bottom electrode having semispherical silicon crystals formed thereon; performing plasma nitriding on the surface of said bottom electrode at a temperature lower than 550° C., thereby forming a film of silicon nitride having a film thickness smaller than 1.5 nm; and depositing a film of amorphous tantalum pentoxide and then crystallizing said amorphous tantalum pentoxide. The silicon nitride film has improved resistance to oxidation and also has a reduced leakage current. As a result, the polysilicon bottom electrode becomes resistant to oxidation and the storage capacitor increases in capacitance and decreases in leakage current.

摘要: In a network system according to the present invention, in the case where a plurality of calls are set between specific terminal and the other terminal unit to conduct communication, when a communication fault is detected in a frame relay network, a representative call is decided from the plurality of calls, and all the calls except for the representative call are released. Thereafter, a call cut message including information relating to the calls to be released is transmitted from the frame relay network. In the specific terminal, the calls except for the representative call are released on the basis of the information of the calls to be released which is contained in the call cut message to transmit the call release message of the representative call. In the frame relay network, the representative call is released according to the call release message to transmit the call release completion message. Then, in the specific terminal, the representative call is released.

摘要: The present invention is aimed at providing a magnetic disk and a magnetic disk apparatus both of which have a high performance lubricating film which makes continuous sliding endurance and low adhesiveness compatible, and a lubricating film having a self repairing function which makes it possible to recombine scratched off lubricating agent from the magnetic disk surface by sliding with a head onto the magnetic disk surface. The lubricating film comprises at least two kinds of lubricating agents each of which forms an individual layer, the layers being laminated. An adhesion enhancing layer is formed between a magnetic film and a lubricating agent at the surface of the magnetic disk, and the adhesion enhancing layer is fixed onto the magnetic film surface. Then, the adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent are combined. The adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent form a salt or complex body, and the lubricating agent can repeat adsorption and desorption with the adhesion enhancing layer reversely by a thermal reaction.
