    摘要: In the breather structure of an internal combustion engine for vehicles, an outer cover is installed through a sound absorbing material for noise suppression on the outside of a body cover. The body cover covers a power unit including at least one of the internal combustion engine and a power transmission device. An outlet of the breather provided in the power unit opens at the sound absorbing material. The present invention provides a breather structure having a simplified construction, a short breather passage, and is capable of preventing entry and attachment of dust and debris into and onto the breather structure.

    摘要: A belt type transmission improves the durability of a support portion of a driven shaft by reducing a load acting on a driven shaft, and improves the durability of the belt and reduces noise by suppressing vibration of a driven pulley. The belt type transmission includes a driven pulley having a fixed pulley piece and a movable pulley piece fitted to a driven shaft. The fixed pulley piece is rotatably supported, respectively, on the driven shaft and a bearing holder, being a constructional element of a transmission case. The bearing holder has a size overlapping only the driven pulley, and is coupled to a left case, which is a constructional element of the transmission case, in the vicinity of the driven pulley. As a result, the rigidity for supporting the fixed pulley piece on the driven side can be increased, thereby enabling suppression of vibration by the driven pulley.

    摘要: A meter cable mounting structure having a shaft portion of an inner cable and a fitting hole of a revolving shaft that can be easily aligned for facilitating the mounting operation. The meter cable mounting structure includes a meter cable having an inner cable with a shaft portion of a square shape in cross section at least at one end thereof. A pinion includes a fitting hole of a square shape in cross section that corresponds to the shaft portion of the inner cable at the end thereof with a tapered inner wall portion being provided in a periphery of an open end of the fitting hole. The tapered inner wall portion is reduced in diameter gradually toward the open end and includes a guide projection for guiding the shaft portion when mounting the meter cable to the pinion by fitting the shaft portion into the fitting hole.

    摘要: To provide a balancer-fitting configuration for an internal combustion engine. With the balancer-fitting configuration of the present invention, the vibration control of an internal combustion engine with forward-inclined cylinders is achieved effectively by using paired balancers separated and disposed opposite to each other. Furthermore, the part of the crankcase behind the crankshaft is decreased in size in the longitudinal direction of the frame, and thereby, a space within which the rear wheel swings is obtained without enlarging the frame. A balancer-fitting configuration of an internal combustion engine with a crankcase, a crankshaft, and a crank weight for a vehicle with a rear wheel disposed close to the rear of the crankcase, wherein the cylinder axial line of the internal combustion engine is inclined generally horizontally, and paired balancers, one above and the other below the crankshaft, are disposed generally within the maximum width of the locus of the crank weight in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Furthermore, a starter is disposed in the vicinity of the upper balancer, and accessories such as an oil pump are disposed in the vicinity of the lower balancer.

    摘要: An engine mounting structure for a motorcycle including a plurality of resilient members for connecting the engine to the vehicle body frame. The resilient member located at the position nearest to the rear wheel is given a resilient property being uniform in the vertical and fore-and-aft directions, and remaining resilient members are given a non-uniform resilient property being hard in the vertical direction and flexible in the fore-and-aft direction. With this configuration, even when the rear wheel moves horizontally in the lateral direction, the influence is attenuated while being transferred to the vehicle body frame. When a resilient member being hard in the vertical direction is used, the behavior of the rear wheel such as the vertical swinging motion or lateral turn can immediately be transferred to the vehicle body frame. Therefore, drivability of the motorcycle during high-speed driving is improved.
