The sidewall portion of the battery housing portion is formed with: a first cutout that is formed along a first direction; and a second cutout that is formed along a second direction different from the first direction and that communicates with the first direction.
Abstract:
The present invention measures an actual utilization frequency of data and controls a location of this data in a storage apparatus in a case where a host computer makes joint use of a storage apparatus and a cache apparatus. A portion of data used by an application program 1A is stored in a storage apparatus 2 and a cache apparatus 3. A management apparatus 4 detects an I/O load of a page (4A), and detects an I/O load of cache data (4B). The management apparatus 4 determines a corresponding relationship between the page and the cache data (4C), and adds the I/O load of the cache data to the I/O load of the page.
Abstract:
A seismic isolation device includes a tabular base board having curved convex protrusions and a smooth sliding plate placed in such a way that a sliding contact surface thereof is made to abut the curved convex protrusions of the base board. An apparent friction coefficient (μ) of only a high-friction portion on a sliding contact surface of the sliding plate with which the curved convex protrusion of the base board is in contact at rest initially is made higher than the apparent friction coefficient of a sliding surface as a portion other than the high-friction portion. Accordingly, the seismic isolation device is not swayed by minor vibrations such as mechanical vibrations, automobile traffic vibrations, and minor earthquakes, and the base board and the sliding plate are enabled when an earthquake of a seismic intensity of 5 or more occurs.

Disclosed is an antiviral agent comprising a non-naturally occurring, artificially synthesized peptide as the main ingredient. The antiviral agent comprises an antiviral peptide, wherein the antiviral peptide has at least one unit of an amino acid sequence constituted by at least five contiguous amino acid residues (which is known as a nuclear localization sequence (NLS)) or an amino acid sequence having a partial modification in the NLS and also having at least one unit of an amino acid sequence constituted by at least five contiguous amino acid residues (which is known as a nuclear export sequence (NES)) or an amino acid sequence having a partial modification in the NES.
Abstract:
A carburetor control system includes: a governor device that is coupled to a throttle lever, opens a throttle valve when an operation of an engine is stopped, and opens or closes the throttle valve in accordance with a rotational number of the engine when the engine is in operation; a choke return spring urging a choke lever in a direction to close a choke valve; and an automatic choke device opening the choke valve in accordance with an increase in temperature of the engine. In the carburetor control system, the throttle lever is provided with a drive arm pivoting the choke lever, during a cold operation of the engine, to a position where the choke valve is at an intermediate degree of opening in operative connection with the throttle lever being pivoted by the governor device to a position where the throttle valve is at a degree of opening for idling or a position in a vicinity thereof. Accordingly, it is possible to mechanically open the choke valve to a predetermined intermediate degree of opening, when the engine is in a cold idling state, in operative connection with the throttle valve, so as to be capable of ensuring a fuel-efficient and stable idling state.
Abstract:
An apparatus which includes a measurement device measuring a surface position of a substrate at each of a plurality of measurement points; which is configured to scan-expose the substrate using slit-shaped light while controlling the surface position based on the measurement result; and in which a width, in a non-scanning direction of the substrate, of a region where the plurality of measurement points are arranged is wider than a width of the slit-shaped light, comprises a controller configured to control the measurement device so as to measure the surface positions in at least two shot regions on the substrate at once at the measurement points, at each of which a portion whose distance from a measurement target position on the substrate falls within a tolerable distance can be measured, of the plurality of measurement points.
Abstract:
A gas laser oscillator including a plurality of discharge tube arrays, each including a plurality of electrical discharge tubes aligning in an axial direction thereof; a support mechanism supporting the discharge tube arrays with axes thereof extending in directions parallel to each other; and an optical part optically connecting the discharge tube arrays to each other with all of the electrical discharge tubes being arranged optically in series. The optical part includes an output mirror and a rear mirror, disposed at a pair of electrical discharge tubes located at opposite ends of an optically serial arrangement of the discharge tube arrays supported by the support mechanism; and a returning mirror disposed at an optical connection between the discharge tube arrays supported by the support mechanism. The support mechanism includes a discharge tube linking holder mutually linking and supporting the electrical discharge tubes of each discharge tube array in a state aligning in the axial direction; a pair of end plates disposed at axially opposite ends of each discharge tube array, and supporting the discharge tube arrays with the axes extending in directions parallel to each other; a support rod fixed at opposite ends thereof to and extending between the end plates; and an elastic member joining the discharge tube linking holder to the support rod.

Abstract:
A preform (15) having a clad part of PVDF and a core part of PMMA is manufactured. The preform (15) is partially heated in a heating furnace (74) of 240° C. The preform (15) is subject to the melt-drawing process to form a plastic optical fiber (17). The drawing tension to the preform (15) is measured by use of a drawing tension measure device (76). Based on the measured value, a drawing roller pair (78) adjusts the drawing tension to be 3.8 MPa. The plastic optical fiber (17) is fed via a dancer roller (82) and rollers (84, 86) toward a bobbin (87) to wind the plastic optical fiber (17). A winding tension measure device (85) measures the winding tension to the POF (17). Based on the measured value, the dancer roller (82) changes its position to adjust the winding tension to be 2.5 MPa.
