摘要: An air bearing slider supports a transducer over a moving recording medium based on air flow generated by the movement of the recording medium. A first pad is formed near a leading edge of the slider and has a first leading edge contoured to provide a first effective length relative to the air flow for the first pad. A second pad is formed near a trailing edge of the slider and has a second leading edge contoured to provide a second effective length relative to the air flow for the second pad. A third pad is formed near the trailing edge of the slider and has a third leading edge which is contoured to provide a third effective length relative to the air flow for the third pad. The first, second, and third effective lengths vary as the air bearing slider moves relative to the moving recording medium to maintain a desired orientation and fly height for the slider during such movement.

摘要: RFID tags are attached to tools of a preform head, a bonding head, and a push-up unit, and information related to each tool such as a dimension of a processing-target die is stored into the RFID tags. When a tool is mounted, an operator inputs manufacturing conditions related to the tool. On the other hand, when the information related to the tool read from the RFID tag by an RFID reader/writer and the manufacturing conditions related to the tool do not match each other, a message about wrong mounting of the tool is displayed on a monitor.Further, an operation history of the tool is written into the RFID tag by the RFID reader/writer when the production is completed. The operation history is read when the next production is started, and if the values of the operation history exceed predetermined numbers of times, a message is displayed on the monitor.Accordingly, the tools are automatically managed to lighten the work load of an operator, and wrong mounting of the tools can be prevented in a die bonder in which the tools are replaceable.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a complex material in which an ion conduction film is curved and deformed when a potential difference is applied, which is operated at small electric power, has a large deformation amount, quick response performances, large degree of freedom in shape, and is easy in control of deformation, while having strength and durability necessary for practical use and being excellent in an economical aspect. A conductive cloth (preferably having stretchability), which is made conductive through plating of metal on a cloth or metal complex implantation, is joined as an electrode to both surfaces of the ion conduction film (the film in which an ion exchange film or ion liquid is immersed) made of a fluororesin and the like. When the potential difference is applied, the ion conduction film is deformed.

摘要: A slider having an improved atmospheric pressure variation characteristic can be provided by ensuring the desired amount of inflow of air flowing to the air bearing surface in a region where it is difficult to ensure the desired air inflow amount, e.g., a region where the slider/disk relative speed is low or a region where the area of the air bearing surface is small by forming a groove configuration surface in a specified shape. In the negative pressure utilization type slider, a groove configuration surface lower in height than an air in flow surface is formed between the disk inner peripheral end and the disk outer peripheral end of the air inflow surface in the air flow incoming end side of a pressure generating surface, separately from a negative pressure generating surface.

摘要: The present invention implements a magnetic disk drive usable under a wide range of temperature environment conditions, and a magnetic head assembly. The flying height of a magnetic head slider (1) can be controlled against a change of temperature so that the flying height of the magnetic head slider (1) is low at low temperatures and high at high temperatures, thereby the variations of the coercivity of a magnetic disk (2) can be cancelled. Further, by setting the rate of change of the crown value with respect to the change of temperature to 0.26 to 0.62 nm/° C., the flying height can be controlled so that the flying height becomes low at low temperatures and high at high temperatures, while maintaining the uniformity of the profile of the flying height of the magnetic head slider (1) from the inner periphery to the outer periphery of the magnetic disk (2).
