Abstract:
Methods and systems for representing a tissue segmentation from a source digital image computationally generate, from a source digital image of an anatomic region, a digital tissue segmentation visually indicating regions of interest corresponding to an abnormal condition associated with at least portions of the anatomic region. The source image and the tissue segmentation may be alternately displayed in registration on a mobile device at a gesturally selected magnification level.
Abstract:
A vehicle latch is disclosed herein, the vehicle latch, having: a first gear with a first gear pitch radius that reduces from a first gear tooth to an ending gear tooth; a second gear with a second gear pitch radius that increases from a first gear tooth to an ending gear tooth, the second gear being rotatably mounted to the latch for movement about a second gear axis; and wherein rotation of the second gear causes a claw of the latch to move from a first position to a second position, the second position corresponding to a closed state of the latch.
Abstract:
A combination support stand and carrying handle apparatus for use with an associated tablet device having a generally rectangular conformation with opposite front and back substantially planar surfaces. The apparatus includes a mounting member, a handle member, and a support stand for holding the associated tablet device on surfaces at selected angles for convenience of use of the tablet device. The carrying handle is grippable by the hand of an associated user. The support stand apparatus and carrying handle apparatus may be provided individually without the other.
Abstract:
The invention provides an embedded processor architecture comprising a plurality of virtual processing units that each execute processes or threads (collectively, “threads”). One or more execution units, which are shared by the processing units, execute instructions from the threads. An event delivery mechanism delivers events—such as, by way of non-limiting example, hardware interrupts, software-initiated signaling events (“software events”) and memory events—to respective threads without execution of instructions. Each event can, per aspects of the invention, be processed by the respective thread without execution of instructions outside that thread. The threads need not be constrained to execute on the same respective processing units during the lives of those threads—though, in some embodiments, they can be so constrained. The execution units execute instructions from the threads without needing to know what threads those instructions are from.
Abstract:
A roof support for an underground mine which has a hydraulic cylinder positioned between a roof engaging support and a ground engaging base and has a flexible gas barrier or enclosure surrounding surfaces of said hydraulic cylinder which are subject to corrosion by gases present in the underground mine. Continuous flowing non-corrosive gas such as nitrogen is supplied to a space between the gas barrier and the hydraulic cylinder for preventing corrosion of cylinder surfaces by corrosive gases present in the mine which may include hydrogen sulfide.
Abstract:
A method for treating musculoskeletal problems by applying a topical composition to a skin surface adjacent the musculoskeletal problem, the topical composition consisting essentially of herbal extracts in a water based synthetic gel and periodically repeating the step of applying as necessary for treatment of the musculoskeletal problem. The water based synthetic gel consists of water, Vitamin C, a carbomer, an antifungal, an anti-oxidant, a buffer and a chelate and zero alcohol. The herbal extracts are blends of the following herbs: St. John's Wort, White Willow, Yarrow, Poke, Lavender, Arnica, Comfrey, Devil's Claw, Witch Hazel, Celery Seed, Peppermint and Rosemary.
Abstract:
Methods and image forming systems for approximating the value of a function given specified values of input data using a sparse lookup table. Individual samples are quantized and rounded up or down to an adjacent lattice point of the lookup table. Rather than performing multiple lookup table accesses, which are required using conventional linear interpolation, the disclosed data processing techniques require as few as one lookup table access per sample. The quantized samples are obtained by truncating one or more least significant bits, designated as masked bits, such that the most significant, or index bits, remain. For each sample, the value of an individual one of the masked bits is examined by comparing it with a corresponding entry in a mask array to determine whether the index bits are to be incremented prior to being used as an index to the lookup table. The mask array defines a dithering process whereby different masked bits are examined for different samples, resulting in dithered quantized index bits for the samples, that when used to access the lookup table, yield an average result over a neighborhood of samples that approximates the result that could be obtained using linear interpolation.
Abstract:
A window fastener having a mounting base (21), a latching flap (12) moveably coupled thereto, a handle (14) and a latching tongue (15). the handle (14) is movable between first and second positions and is coupled to the latching tongue (15) so that the latching tongue moves the latching flap (18) when the handle (14) moves to a latching position. A movement inducing mechanism (34, 41) operable by the handle (14) causes movement of the flap (12) to occur when the handle is moved from the latching position to a non-latching position.
Abstract:
A system and method for replicating temporary data created by a server is provided. Temporary data for a local server is replicated periodically to a remote server. Temporary data for the remote server is also periodically replicated to the local server. If a server fails, another server begins processing user requests not responded to by the failed server. The user requests are processed with the benefit of the replicated temporary data. Repetitive user input and processing to create and process the temporary data is not required.
