摘要： A method of driving a display device including pixels in a matrix and a power source, each pixel including a light-emitting element, drive transistor, capacitance element, and switching transistor, and connected to the power source by a power line, the method including: setting a voltage across the light-emitting element smaller than or equal to its threshold voltage by adjusting a voltage outputted by the power source to the power line; (a) applying, to a gate of the drive transistor, a reset voltage with which the gate-source voltage of the drive transistor becomes larger than its threshold voltage; (c) causing a data voltage to be held in the capacitive element; and (d) causing the light-emitting element to emit light according to the data voltage by setting the voltage across the light-emitting element larger than its threshold voltage by adjusting the voltage outputted by the power source to the power line.

摘要： A method of forming an optical element for a color display device includes forming a lens shaped die, coating a low refractive index photo-setting resin on the lens shaped die, pasting the lens shaped die to a substrate, and irradiating the coated low refractive index photo-setting resin so as to set the low refractive index resin and form a low refractive index layer. The lens shaped die is removed from the low refractive index layer set on the substrate, a high refractive index photo-setting resin is coated on the low refractive index layer by use of a planarizing die, and the coated high refractive index photo-setting resin is irradiated so as to set the high refractive index resin and form a high refractive index layer. The planarizing die is then from the high refractive index layer set on the low refractive index layer.

A plurality of contact holes penetrate through an interlayer insulation film and have wiring lines connecting first electrode plates and second electrode plates with a thin-film transistor layer. The first electrode plates and the second electrode plates each include at least one concavity. The at least one concavity included in each of the first and second electrode plates coincide with the plurality of contact holes. A total volume of the at least one concavity in any of the first electrode plates is larger than a total volume of the at least one concavity in any of the second electrode plates, while a volume of a portion of the first organic functional layer corresponding to any of the first electrode plates at least approximates a volume of the second organic functional layer corresponding to any of the second electrode plates. A portion of the first organic functional layer entered into the at least one concavity in any of the first electrode plates is larger than a portion of the second organic functional layer entered into the at least one concavity in any of the second electrode plates, so that in locations other than the at least one concavity in the first electrode plates and the second electrode plates, the first organic functional layer is thinner than the second organic functional layer.
