The invention relates to a silicon/carbon composite material, to a method for the synthesis thereof and to the use of such a material. The silicon/carbon composite material is formed by an aggregate of silicon particles and of carbon particles, in which the silicon particles and the carbon particles are dispersed. The carbon particles are formed by at least three different carbon types, a first type of carbon being selected from among non-porous spherical graphites, a second type of carbon being selected from among non-spherical graphites and a third type of carbon being selected from among porous electronically-conductive carbons. The first and second carbon types each have a mean particle size ranging between 0.1 μm and 100 μm and the third carbon type has a mean particle size smaller than or equal to 100 nanometers.

The invention related to a liquid electrolyte for a lithium battery comprising a lithium salt dissolved in a mixture of three non-aqueous organic solvents. This mixture consists of:33% to 49 volume % of propylene carbonate,33% to 49 volume % of diethyl carbonate, and2% to 34 volume % of ethyl acetate.The liquid electrolyte is in particular suitable for a lithium battery based on the LiFePO4/Li4Ti5O-12 pair or derivatives thereof, these materials being the respective active materials of the positive and negative electrodes. Such a lithium battery in fact has the advantage of operating in power, over a wide temperature range, while at the same time preserving a low self-discharge capacity.

A dispersion comprises at least one aqueous solvent, a lithium and titanium mixed oxide such as Li4Ti5O12 and an organic binder comprising a starch-type polysaccharide. The starch-type polysaccharide comprises amylose and amylopectin, with a ratio between the weight proportion of amylose and the weight proportion of amylopectin that is less than or equal to 25%. Such a dispersion can be used to achieve a lithium storage battery electrode.
