摘要: A practical treatment apparatus for ship ballast water, which can kill aquatic organisms contained in the ballast water, is provided by being easily incorporated in an existing ballast-water system piping in a ship. In a branch pipe 131 branched from the existing ballast-water system piping for taking in the ballast water into the ship by a first ballast pump 4 with high flow-rate/low pressure and transferring it to a ballast tank 2, an ozone mixing device for mixing ozone generated by an ozone generator, a second ballast pump 134 for discharging said ballast water with lower flow-rate/high pressure than those of said first ballast pump, a slit plate 135 provided on the secondary side of said second ballast pump 134 and having a plurality of slit-shaped openings for passing said ballast water, and a deaeration tank 136 for deaerating undissolved ozone from the ballast water are provided, and the apparatus is configured so that the ballast water after deaeration discharged from said deaeration tank 136 is returned to said ballast-water system piping.

摘要: A water treatment system to be installed in a tanker or other cargo ship for destruction of aquatic organisms and microorganisms that may be contained in the water, usually seawater, being pumped into the ship's ballast tank or tanks. Included is a ballast pump having an intake conduit for drawing water from the sea, and a delivery conduit for delivering the water under pressure to the ballast tank. The delivery conduit has mounted therein a slitted or otherwise open-worked screen for mechanically killing the aquatic lifeforms contained in the water by shearing action. For chemical treatment, on the other hand, part of the water being delivered by the ballast pump is bypassed into an ozone impregnator thereby to be impregnated with ozone from an ozonizer. A bypass pump repressurizes the ozone-impregnated water for returning the same into the delivery conduit.

摘要: A servo track writer for writing a servo track signal to a disk medium in a disk drive including the disk medium, a head for reading/writing information from/to the disk medium, and an internal actuator for moving the head across tracks formed on the disk medium. The internal actuator has a rotatable carriage for supporting the head. The servo track writer includes an external actuator having an arm, a solid deformation element provided in relation to the arm, and an effector mounted on the arm; an internal actuator control unit for controlling the internal actuator; an external actuator control unit for controlling the external actuator; a solid deformation element control unit for controlling the solid deformation element; and an arm position detecting device for detecting a position of the arm. The solid deformation element is divided into a first segment functioning as an actuator for minutely displacing the carriage, and a second segment functioning as a sensor for detecting a position of the effector.
