The present invention provides a method for the treatment of a disease or disorder related to an inflammatory condition comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a metal and a thiol. In particular, embodiments of the present invention are directed towards methods of treating inflammatory conditions that are associated with elevated levels of free TNFα.
