    摘要: The present invention relates to a circuit for processing internal combustion engine crank angle sensor signals. The construction is such that an output side circuit of a crank angle sensor outputs a crank angle signal with a high level pulse generated in response to the switching on and off of a switch element connected in series to a power source. Moreover, an input side circuit of a signal processing circuit includes a voltage reducing circuit which pulls down a power source voltage applied at the time of pulse generation, to a predetermined voltage and supplies this to an arithmetic processing section. Consequently, the output signal at the time of no pulse generation becomes a low level so that influence from noise is minimized. Also, since the input signal at the time of momentary disconnection of terminals connecting between the crank angle sensor and the processing circuit is a low level, then erroneous recognition of pulse generation is prevented. Moreover, since at the time of pulse generation, current flows between the terminals, then terminal oxidation film is removed so that poor contact can also be prevented.

    摘要: An apparatus for detecting pressure in an engine cylinder comprises a cylinder pressure sensor inserted between an ignition plug screwed into an engine cylinder head and a bearing surface on which the ignition plug is mounted. The sensor outputs a detection signal depending upon a change in the sensor load corresponding to a change in the pressure in the cylinder, to detect the pressure in the cylinder based on a detection signal from the cylinder pressure sensor. The detection signal from the cylinder pressure sensor is invalidated for only a predetermined period based on an ignition signal that controls the ignition of the ignition plug so that the S/N ratio in the sensor output will not be deteriorated by the ignition noise.

    摘要: A slip condition of a torque converter is learned at a predetermined operating condition with a lock-up mechanism disengaged, and a diagnosis condition (for example a start time or judgement level of the fault diagnosis) used in diagnosing a fault in the lock-up mechanism on the basis of slip conditions of the torque converter which change after issue of a disengage command to the lock-up mechanism, is corrected in accordance with the learned result. As a result, the diagnosis condition which is conventionally set assuming a maximum viscosity for the operating fluid, can be changed to correspond to the actual viscosity of the operating fluid being used. Hence, the time delay from issue of a disengage command to the lock-up mechanism until starting fault diagnosis can be reduced, so that it is possible to diagnose if normal lock-up mechanism disengagement is being made at a response speed which follows the demands for rapid lock-up mechanism disengagement under operating conditions including acceleration and deceleration operating conditions such as encountered with city driving and the like.

    摘要: A water temperature base increase correction amount for an internal combustion engine is reducingly corrected while maintaining the level of the surge-torque below a fixed level. A time constant for updating of the reduction correction is set based on a delay time from supply of fuel until generation of torque from combustion of the fuel. In this way responsiveness to the fuel reduction correction can be maintained, enabling improvement in fuel costs and exhaust emissions. Furthermore, the detection of the surge-torque necessary for example, for the control of fuel reduction correction, involves detection of scatter in combustion pressures between cylinders, while at the same time detecting variations in combustion pressure occurring in the same cylinder. The surge-torque level is then detected on the basis of these results. Since the influence or the occurrence of surge-torque is greater at low speed in the case of the former, and at high speed in the case of the latter, good surge-torque detection can be achieved over the whole operating range.
