Abstract:
Babassuamadopropalkonium chloride is quaternary ammonium compounds obtained from natural babassu oil that contains a high level of lauric acid, and it has been used as mild conditioner. We found that babassuamadopropalkonium chloride has strong and broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity especially with bisabolol. Bisabolol is the active component of Chamomile, one of the most used medical plants, and has been used as anti-irritant. We found that there is a synergistic effect of bisabolol on hinokitiol, when combined with ethylhexylglycerin or caprylyl glycol. This synergistic effect of composition of bisabolol and ethylhexylglycerin can reduce the required amount of hinokitiol, which if used in high amount can be unstable by more than 100 times. Self-preserving personal care cleansing compositions that include bisabolol, alkyl or alkylamidopropyl betaines, amphoteric surfactants, acyl sarcosinates and optionally fatty acids and(or) acyl lactylate and(or) acyl glucoside and(or) babassuamadopropalkonium chloride and colloidal silver have also broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity.
Abstract:
An integrated drilling and evaluation system includes a drill string having an interior portion and a drill bit, carried on a lower end, that includes ports for communicating fluid between the interior portion of the drill string and an uncased well bore. A packer, carried above the drill bit, is operable for sealingly closing a well annulus. A tester valve inserted in the drill string is operable for sealingly closing the drill string. The packer and tester valve are cooperatively operable for isolating a subsurface zone of interest. The system includes monitoring means inserted in the drill string for monitoring a parameter of well fluid from the subsurface zone. Once the subsurface zone is isolated, well fluid is communicated into the interior portion of the drill string through the ports of the drill bit, received by the monitoring means, and tested without removing the drill string form the well.
Abstract:
The inventive stator includes a helical cavity component made from a material chosen to reinforce an elastomer liner deployed thereon. The contouring of the elastomer liner is asymmetrical, such that the elastomer liner is relatively thick on the loaded side of a lobe as compared to its thickness on the unloaded side of the lobe.
Abstract:
A handheld communication device having an RF front end module has a switchable balun comprising a primary winding having a first two port winding and a second two port winding where a low noise amplifier is operatively coupled to the first and second two port windings and a power amplifier is operatively coupled to the first and second two port windings. A secondary winding is operatively coupled to an antenna, and a transceiver is operatively coupled to the low noise amplifier and the power amplifier. When the switchable balun is in a receive state, the antenna is operatively coupled to the transceiver through the low noise amplifier, and when the switchable balun is in a transmit state, the antenna is operatively coupled to the transceiver through the power amplifier. The ratio of the primary winding to the secondary winding is greater than a one-to-one ratio
Abstract:
A pipeline pig, brush and method of assembly of the pipeline pig brush is provided. The pipeline pig brush has a first plate and a second plate. The first plate has a plurality of recesses provided in a rear face. The second plate has a plurality of recesses provided in a front face that can be substantially aligned with the plurality of recesses in the back face of the first plate. A number of brushes, each brush having a ferrule and a tuft of bristles, can be clamped between the first plate and the second plate where they are held in place between the first plate and the second plate by the recesses with their tuft of bristles extended beyond the sides of the first plate and second plate.
Abstract:
A brush useful in pipeline pigs, for example, in magnetic flux leakage tools or cleaning tools, a method of making the brush and pipeline pig comprising the brush. The brush has a metal bristle holder and a plurality of bristles, the ends of which are held in the bristle holder by glue, swaging or a combination of glue and swaging. The glue may be an anaerobic glue. The brush and method of making avoid the use of heat to secure the bristles to the bristle holder, avoid the use of solder or weld metal, and are less labor intensive than soldering or welding.
