Abstract:
A biosensing cell assembly having a measurement loop with a test cell having an analyte reaction zone for amperometric measurement of a response current to determine analyte concentration and a noise cancellation loop arranged to be physically exposed to the same electromagnetic environment as the measurement loop. The noise cancellation loop has a predetermined impedance within a range of the impedance of the test cell analyte reaction zone and provides a current to cancel or reduce the effects of the electromagnetic environment on the measurement loop.
Abstract:
A relative position detector has a photodetector arrangement for providing light and responding to the intensity of the light when reflected thereto. A member such as a cylindrical pin having a surface reflective of the light, convex to the photodetector arrangement, and movable relative thereto reflectively sweeps the light across the photodetector arrangement for responding thereto to produce a continuously-curving response indicating with its peak the position detected. The continuously-curving response can be differentiated in a peak detector for even more precise position detection. A mount which may be used for the photodetector arrangement has a support member and a member having a lower coefficient of thermal expansion slidably supported thereon, except for one fixed point.
Abstract:
An electronic device may be configured to prompt a user via an on-board display to measure user glucose via an on-board glucose meter, to compute a first drug bolus value based on the measured user glucose, to display the first drug bolus value on the display and prompt the user via the display to enter carbohydrate information into the device, to compute a second drug bolus value based on the entered carbohydrate information, to display the second drug bolus value on the display and prompt the user via the display to enter user health information into the device, to compute a third drug bolus value based on the entered health information and a total drug bolus value as a sum of the first, second and third drug bolus values, and to display the third and total drug bolus values on the display.
Abstract:
A fluid-delivery apparatus for delivering a medicament to a patient is provided in accordance with the present invention. The apparatus includes a housing defining a passageway, a bellowed ampoule positioned to lie in the passageway of the housing, and a piston. The bellowed ampoule includes a body with first and second ends and is formed to define a cavity configured to contain the medicament. The piston presses the second end of the ampoule toward the first end to dispense the medicament from the cavity. In addition, the fluid-delivery apparatus includes a visible non-linear scale that represents the relationship between a volume of medicament delivered from the first end of the ampoule and a distance that the piston has traveled in the housing toward the first end.
Abstract:
Proven data base is generated for electrical test responses of sporadic defects in integrated circuits as manufactured. Manufactured circuits are subjected to that electrical testing and resulting responses used to identify defect and check the manufacture to avoid its repetition.
Abstract:
A device and method of providing information to a healthcare provider regarding the dosing of insulin is provided where the data is analyzed to produce a qualified set of points. The applied analysis is performed via parameters that are independent of patient input.
