Abstract:
An antenna aperture for mounting on the outside mast structure of a submarine is disclosed. The antenna aperture is designed to withstand hydrostatic pressure cycles as would be experienced by a submarine. The antenna is constructed of a highly corrosion resistant housing upon which a wide angle impedance (WAIM) cover designed to meet antenna RF requirements is integrated.
Abstract:
A window or door assembly includes a main frame formed from extrusions of rigid plastics material, and the main frame supports at least one movable sash frame also formed from extrusions of rigid plastics material and enclosing a glass or glazing panel. One of the sash frame members supports a first member of a permanent magnet assembly for movement with the sash frame, and the magnet assembly includes a second member supported between an inner wall and an outer wall of an adjacent main frame member. The second member of the magnet assembly is positioned to provide a magnetic attraction with the first member of the magnet assembly and through the inner wall of the main frame member to form a positive weather seal between the sash frame and the main frame when the sash frame and the glazing panel are in a closed position.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to systems and methods for radiating radar signals, communication signals, or other similar signals. In one embodiment, a system includes a controller that generates a control signal and an antenna coupled to the controller. The antenna includes a first component that generates at least one wave based on the generated control signal and a metamaterial lens positioned at some predefined focal length from the first component. The metamaterial lens directs the generated at least one wave.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for steering a beam from a phased array antenna mounted on a mobile platform. Rate sensors mounted on the phased array antenna are used to update lower bandwidth data from the mobile platform, resulting in improved pointing performance.

Abstract:
A transportable, sealable container, for example a Standard Mechanical Interface (or SMIF) pod, including a box and box door. The box has a first sealing surface and the box door has a second sealing surface. A liner, preferably stainless steel, is attached to the inside surface of the box door. An elastomer sealing material is integrally molded to the liner. The sealing material forms a first seal with the first sealing surface and a second seal with the second sealing surface when the box door is moved in a sealing position with respect to the box.
Abstract:
A transportable, sealable container, which has an improved pod liner. The container includes a box, a box door, and a gasket which forms a seal between the box and the box door. The box door has a conductive liner and a conductive path from the conductive liner to ground potential for electrostatic discharge protection. A membrane for isolating the gasket from the interior region of the container is bonded to the gasket and the conductive liner. The membrane may be impervious to gasses to prevent outgassing of the gasket or impervious to particles but not gasses to prevent particulate matter generated by the gasket from entering the interior region of the container.
Abstract:
A system for positioning an end effector of a wafer handling robot with respect to a wafer to be extracted from a cassette, and for thereafter reading an indicial mark on the wafer. The system includes a pair of sensor units fixedly mounted on the end effector, which sensor units are capable of detecting the wafer edge upon approach of the end effector toward the wafer. Based on the positions of the end effector when the first and then the second sensor units detect the edge of the wafer, a computer may determine the orientation of the end effector with respect to the wafer, and adjust a position of the end effector to a center of the wafer. Thereafter, the indicial mark on the wafer may be read by a camera by withdrawing the wafer from the cassette on the end effector, positioning the center of the wafer over the central axis of rotation of the wafer handling robot, and rotating the robot until the indicial mark is located under the camera.
Abstract:
A transportable, sealable container, for example a SMIF pod, including a box and box door. The box has a first sealing surface and the box door has a second sealing surface. The two sealing surfaces form a seal when the box door is moved in a sealing position with respect to the box. A latch mechanism is provided in the box door for holding the box door in the sealing position. The container further includes a breather assembly having an aperture, with a filter, that allows gas to flow between the interior of the container and an environment external to the container. A valve, which is actuated by the latch, opens and closes the aperture. When the latch unlocks the box door, the valve opens the aperture. When the door is locked, the valve closes the aperture.

A novel method for purifying antibody and other product protein concomitant with removing aggregates made up from single product protein species is devised.
